Description
Storm chasers Dave Demko and Heidi Farrar documented this VIOLENT "drillbit" tornado from close range near Cherokee, Oklahoma during the major tornado outbreak on April 14, 2012. EXTREME wind velocities were responsible for the dramatic audible roar as the tornado moved within 100 yards of them. This was one of two simultaneous tornadoes that occurred at around 8:00 PM, and was produced by the same storm that went on to put down multiple long-track tornadoes across southern Kansas, causing damage in the Wichita metro area and Andover Air Force base.
