Still holding for one last storm up here, or down south

As of the most recent GFS run the moisture may not return to the north this weekend. Strange pattern indeed, it seems like last year was moisture/shear central just no major instability.
I hope I get one good ND supercell this year

Since, the beginning of warmer weather up here in the north I have been without a solid supercell in ND or SD. The ND/SD chases I have gone on are:
1) thunderstorm near Alice, ND
2) line of thunderstorms Watertown, SD
3) a couple of low-topped iffy supercells near Bismarck
There has been two significant tornadic supercells in ND this season, that I am aware of. The first one I just didn't make the 4 hour trip to W. ND. The second one the Dickinson EF3. The Dickinson storm well, let's just say I was out of town I almost got my plane ticket rescheduled when I realized the system coming was looking really good. It would have cost an extra 150$ or so I know some would have paid that. ND is not the tornado capital, but given the right ingredients even E. ND can explode. You pretty much have to be reserved to chase every set up in the Dakotas if you want to get in on the excitement. Patience is key, and when the models verify; be there!
