There was no sign that Katrina had ever hit the portions of town that I visited. Of course, the powers that be were going to clean up the famous parts first, not the areas where people's lives were impacted the most.
I enjoyed sunny weather most of the way, but I was treated to a spectacular lightning show between Baton Rouge and Lafayette Saturday night and got some video of a run-of-the-mill thunderstorm northeast of Knoxville on the way home yesterday.

Still waiting for confirmation whether or not a microburst hit my town yesterday afternoon.
Up to 12 severe t'storm warnings for the year now.

Two separate severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for my town yesterday, but both storms somehow managed to miss us. There were reports of hail 2" in diameter less than 20 miles away.
I'm waiting to see if we can beat last year's severe thunderstorm warning count (eighteen). We've had three so far this year.
