Don't you think sitting in your arm-chair "holier-than-thou quarterback seat and pontificating on my opinion is hypocritical. Others whose choose to put themselves in danger by photographing volcanos, hurricanes, and sharks produce amazing results. I'm merely challenging these tornadovideo.net folks to do the same, not just producing the same amateurish-yelling-over-the-video erratic frenzied video. "WE HAVE A LARGE TORNADO"....duh. How about hearing the tornado without the commentary. "Holy $@#*!" They need to mature as videographers. You cheerleaders don't offer much except "way to go"..."awesome"..."bless you" tripe. I offer them a sincer challenge. In addition, I have better ways to spend $2000 than to hook up with an Okie Tornado Safari. No thanks. Sunny and 78 degrees in beautiful California. Yalp.

Mordrik, I actually GOT your point...what I have a problem with is the "holier than thou" attitude that comes across. Since you're the one with the video degree from OSU why don't you take a tour, put your skills to work, & show us how it should be done so we can deicde if you're correct in your constructive criticism. :-? Some storm chasers are meteorologists, not just videographers. They collect data on the storms & a video camera is just one of the tools used to capture data. :-* I agree with Tammy (txvegas8ball) & until you put your life on the line to capture the beauty & the fury of mother nature, give these guys a break. I appreciate whatever footage they get & share with the rest of us. :-) May God Bless & Keep Them Safe! :-)

Hey with all the criticism and back and forth I just want to say congrats to the guys for filming this as I was just checking out MSNBC.com and noticed your footage on their front page as the video attachment to the tornado stories. Great exposure and congrats. Oh yeah and the link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31420215/ns/weather/

Many seem to be missing my point. I'm not referring to safety or wind shake or whether I could do a better job, which I could...I'm referring to the overuse of zooming, panning, tilting, and NEVER holding the camera still. Video degree from Oklahoma State University here and I learned little but I DID pick up the basics of what makes a decent video and these guys are Tornado Videographers so should step up the skill when in the field. Get a remote mounted camera for the car, use a tripod from a distance with a zoom or, at least, settle down a bit while taping. It's not like they were actually IN the tornado, but it looks like it. Great Tornado. Crummy video as usual.

It's amazing to me at how someone will armchair quarterback an intense, lifethreatening situation such as this! Please understand, I do not intend to be confrontational, but these guys are having to make split second decisions based on the conditions that they are in at that moment. I for one can deal with the videos that are sometimes not the best. Mordrik, I challenge you to get a video camera, try to be in the right place at the right time, see the awesome beauty, danger, and power of a tornado; all the while wondering if you might be in harms way and what you're going to do if you are.....and at the same time, shoot some amazingly stable and calm video of the tornado at the same time. I encourage you to be more understanding, and try to put yourself in the chasers shoes. Those of us that are chasers are very well aware of these challenges. Keep up the good work guys and know that you are very much appreciated for what you do! Take care and keep up the great work! Tammy

Great Job Guys! Headed East Tomorrow were in the MDT risk area, and I'll highlight this...DEEP LAYER SHEAR WILL BE MORE THAN SUFFICIENT FOR SUPERCELLS WITH VERY LARGE HAIL AND DMGG WIND GUSTS. TORNADOES WILL ALSO BE LIKELY Haven't had anything like that around Toledo so far, but I guess we'll see. :) Good Luck Guys -Brandon

OMG! Great footage. I'm looking forward to seeing more coverage of the twisters. I was lucky to be watching one of the live streams but that tornado was not the monster one in this video! I was keeping my fingers crossed that tornados weren't headed for Omaha since my Longhorns are there kicking butt in the College World Series!! :-)
