Check out these incredible photos and video taken by typhoon chaser James Reynolds (TyphoonFury.com) from the east coast of Taiwan as Typhoon Jangmi was lurking just off-shore. This appears to be a similar phenomenon as what we experienced along the seawall in Galveston, although much more intense here and the water is much cleaner! Check out TyphoonFury.com for James' complete chase account along with incredible radar and satellite images.

James... Good wave action... Its amazing to see how well planned they are for these powerful cyclones.. It appears that there are layes of seawalls to protect the coast..
Like James R's last vid with Sinlaku... Our coastal communities in the Gulf would fold HUGE if a couple of events like the 1.. 2.. 3.... punch the orient just experienced.. These storms LPA's to truly super-typhoons are storms like we hardly or rarely experience. Wow the eye definition and diameter of Hagupit and Jangmi.. Those are storms of steriodic dimensions.. I think they should be tested for unnatural ingredients.. They should be barred from the competition of the cyclone world series.. What do you'all think? I think we need a little bit of anabolic influence in our Atlantic region.. Funny to watch Kyle make landfall.. Just kind of.. ehhh.. well.. nah.... over. Forget about the east Pacific.. Those spinners are major wimps..
Keep the travels safe James.. Kudos mate.
@JC - wow, can we surf those waves? ehehehehe...i think yes that is if you want to surf straight to heavens...
anyway, look at this sat pic...
http://metocph.nmci.navy.mil/sat/gms_a/goesa.jpg
notice the long band of clouds that stretches from japan to alaska... very consistent with what you said in your previous post in the last news...
and also, see the 2 forming cyclones... very beautiful... as for again 99W its closing in to what i want to happen... now if this continues , i will let you know if i can chase it... and to the TS "Mehkkala" 20W, its moving close to land areas so not enough time for development...
comparing the yesterday's sat pic and today, it is evident that 99W is moving WNW yahoo!!! 3 cyclone madness in one month!!!... how's the atlantic?...let's see... an active LPA expected to hit again new york and near states and moving @ WNW direction... pretty good but not enough heat to fuel the cyclone because of its location... TOO MUCH NORTH = cold waters... too bad... LOL!!!

Well amazing enough for our coast...we get huge surf from October through late February. It is common for us to see quadruple overhead surf here from the good ole Gulf of Alaska... About that time of March or so... I start doing the meso dance of pre-predicting for travel.. When the convection starts rockin, I am then looking for a tube ride of a different kind.
Don't sit down yet.. Here comes Pablo... TD attm.. This one will develop pretty fast... Looks like the path will brush the east side of the Phillipines..
Most of the remnants of Jangmi have ejected to the Alaska brewing factory.. Looks to be the start of an early winter trend on the west coast.. 21W will add to this as well..
Still standing... ??? Super Cyclone hits the east coast... Comes out of absolutely nowhere.. Wall street gets pounded by the eyewall... Will call this one an Cat 6-7 by the last measurements.. Total obliteration mates... I guess a few people won't be sitting down for a while..
TS Pablo... still not worthy for a chase... *sighs*
They just did a promo for "Storm Chasers" on Inside Edition and they showed a few clips of Reed and the gang! Can't wait to see the series!
duh... TS Pablo was now near lands... i predict a 45% chance of intensifying, 55% chance of weakening... looks like its better not to chase it after all... not enough show to boot...
Okay.. I am sitting now.. What a day... WE have Higos "pablo 21W" As "CB" says.. "still not worthy for a chase"... By the SAT.. Does not look to be organizing like the "textbook cyclones" of the past few weeks. There has got to be some surf in that vicinity, protected by surrounding geography..
@ James... Where you at Mate.. ???
Atlantic? Laura.. On the road to nowwhere.. France and Spain will get great surf for the contest if it speeds that way "rightaway" !!
Remnants of ST's & AK mixing gives us a meso hope for next week.. The waves predictions just north of my base is calling for 35 to 40 foot this coming Sunday.
Reed... do you see the models lining up for any LL shear in this window? Could be a central southern plains event possibility. My instinct side is on "alert"... !! Would really like your take on this.
Off topic.. The wall street cyclone has my attention. The media again is good for the dice rollers... Also severe T-storms as monsoon season is rolling in So Cal.. I was surfing today watching active cells dance over the ocean. A few bolts and one cell had some good outflow. Awesome view from the surfzone..
Alrighty than... WE NEED MESO... Whats your take on next week Reed ??
TS pablo weakens... ow my... just what my "forecast" says but still, there is still a space for intensifying... looks like my decision not to chase it is right after all... i think after this 2 "TS" pacific might be quiet for some time...
Word... What word... ? Anybody here?
Reed: Looking at the models for remnant turbo meso posse'.. Looking like the Oct 6 to 8... The wind models show the wind flow north strong possible from the Gulf of Mex... The system looks to be forming a "large fetch" look like a good possiblity to investigate... Look at the current SAT of west coast attm... You'll see what I mean...

I need to get out there for property issues in Colo.. May double deal this as time gets closer.. Desperately seeking Meso... Hah... 20 foot plus HZ tubes will be just fine.. Models are calling for 35 to 42 foot.. fetch size must be predicted to be HUGE... Imagine that.. Thanks ST's 18W 19W and so on.. Got to love it.. Cheers
....how can u measure wind?
it's my inquiry in school ad i should know but i have no idea so i thought u could help me??!
