Severe thunderstorm watches have been issued for most of the western Great Lakes region, mainly for the threat of strong straight-line winds and marginally severe hail. Many of these storms are forming along lake breeze fronts and outflow boundaries, with the storms likely congealing into one or more MCSs by this evening. 0-1 and 0-3 km helicity values are under 50 m2/s2 for the entire region, so the tornado threat is almost non-existent. Tomorrow could be very interesting in Manitoba! Check out the forecasting thread in the forum for updates.

Hey All... Looks like we are all going through meso withdrawls.. MAJOR..
The only thing I see on the horizon is Manitoba Ontario.. maybe this weekend... ?? Just to iffy to get enthused about..
On the Tropic Cyclone front.. Looks like a couple of possibles in the Atlantic.. A couple in the Pacific as well..
One thing for sure, we have had "epic" surf from the remnents of Genevieve. Well overhead surf and have logged over 5 hours the past two evenings. If any of you need to escape the heat, come out here. JC will set you up with "free lessons". Really... Horizontal tubes are in season here all year. Sorry for being off topic but anything of severe events are nil, so just have to keep some excitement up. Cheers!
Yeah, it was pretty interesting around Green Bay this afternoon. When they issued the tornado warning for Door County I jumped in the car and headed for the UWGB Park which is near the campus and on the lakeshore of the Bay. Got some rather nice pics while there, then noticed the one headed right for Green Bay itself.
As I was heading back into town, the sky got really black to the north, with more towers in the west growing out of the storm I was watching. Got a few more pics near a marina which is located at the mouth of the Fox River. But the main thing was when I was heading back home, I saw a really cool shelf cloud emerging, so I managed to get some pictures of that as well. No hail or anything near where I was -and even so far no reports of tornadoes in either Door County or Delta County in MI- , but I did send some of my pictures to one of the local news -Channel 26 here- and one of the really good shelf clouds made it on the news broadcasts.
