Below is a video from Rob MacDonald of Prairie Skies Storm Chasing and pictures from Justin Hobson of the University of Manitoba/Environment Canada of the tornadic supercell north and northeast of Pipestone, Manitoba from yesterday evening.  This cell produced several tornadoes during about a 15 minute span as the storm showed 100+ knots gtg on radar.  If these chasers weren't in the area, no one would have known about these tornadoes!

Here are some high-resolution radar images provided by Justin H of the storm at the time of the tornado.  The left image I believe is storm relative velocity and the center is reflectivity.  As you can see the couplet was very impressive on this storm at the time of the tornado.

Nice one, Rob =).

On a side note, more stuff rolling around Saskatchewan again today. We just had some nice HUGE rain drops and cool lightning blow through.. also a brief tornado reported near Moose Jaw

Matt, I haven't looked at it for more than two minutes, but I don't think you're gonna see anything special. The one storm up there is leaving the area where CAPE and shear are maximized, and based on radar it could be pretty outflow dominant. The SPC kept the probabilities pretty low for that watch. Then again GR3 seems to show rotation, so maybe I'm wrong, I just don't think too much will happen. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on all of this.

Dick McGowan is on that storm according to Spotter Network... He'll probably report a huge wedge just to prove me wrong lol.

I sure hope things turn out here in Alberta, not has it been cold, it has been dry, nothing even close sing the 5th, and it said on the new that areas between Edmonton and Ponoka(where i live) has been very dry, I hope to get an "August super sparker" like back in 2006, or a late July supercell like last year, but i'll not have my hopes up until it comes

hi guys! Good job chasing. I am a strorm watcher myself and a wannabe tornado chaser. Im from Winnipeg and last year's F5 in Elie(which I believe you saw as well) got me even more interested in tornado chasing. I love Thunderstorms. Were you guys always into tornado chasing? How did you get into it and how can an amateur strom watcher get involved in the "adrenaline rush?"

Brett, you might want to check out the forum (click my name). Since this blog entry is pretty far down the queue I'm not sure many people will see it, but if you ask on the forum it's more likely to be noticed. :)
