TVN would like to congratulate Jon and Shawna Davies, both veteran chasers, who were married in Salina, KS on Friday with a textbook anvil and mammatus in the background! Here is the related thread on StormTrack with pictures, etc: http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17187
Jon is very well-known amongst chasers and meteorologists as one of the best severe weather forecasters around, and his case studies are unparalleled. Jon and Shawna recently published a book about storm chasing, which can be ordered at http://onthetrailoftwisters.com/.
Dick McGowan attended the wedding, and you'll see from his pictures below that he is not only a talented severe weather photographer, but also holds his own at weddings!

In other news...it looks like we'll be heading to northern ND/southern Manitoba for a potential severe weather event on Monday... If moisture can return there could be a few tubes..

Yipee! TVN might be coming to my neck of the woods!
And congratulations for Jon and Shawna! Those will be some very memorable wedding photos.
awesome wedding!
aaaaaaaaaa we behind russia now....
hey heidi what s up!
hey volker you gonna chase tomorrow?..I will
I saw a funnel cloud not to long ago, as severe weather is rolling through the Winnipeg area right now! So not to spam, the image is in the forum!
nice going Jon!
haha, thanks Cors! I cannot believe this line of storms! It develped due to lake breeze convergences, and just keeps producing tons of storm cells that keep training over my area. Another one should be here in about 5 minutes.
also, if I forgot to say it, congradulations to the two of them, how awesome to have their wedding by something they love chasing.
I assume after they were married they hopped into their vehicles and chased the storm? :P
Congrats Jon and Shawna.....Excellent photos. Btw whats in the shot glasses?
too bad they couldn't have tornadoes in the background lol
yesterday a rope tornado touched down briefly then dissipated quickly in Pottawattamie county IA, not far from Atlantic, the sirens were activated, i got a perfect view.. and VIDEO!!!
what a great way to get hitched! if your into storm hitching that is lol. seriously congrats many happy years....and core punches lol.
REED: if your coming through alberta anytime in the next lil while, i suggest waiting till the second week in july around there. im calling it now. if im wrong...thats usually the norm lol.
Actually Dale. I agree with you on the second week of July. First week or end of the first week were suppose to have a heatwave of about 30+ temperatures for a few days, and then a big severe weather outbreak just after that ends. The days are as followed:
July 4-7: Temperatures peaking at or above 32 degrees celsius.
July 8-11: Dangerous thunderstorms roll through the rockies and sweep east through the prairies.
That's the almanac, and don't doubt it because they were right for the Tuesday storm. On the GFS I can see the heatwave begining for southern saskatchewan. The models indicate 100F just north of Regina for June 30th.
mod risk tomorrow for germany and holland:

come get some!
Hmm..Reed, I think you should watch the models for the next week, next sunday looks amazing here in Alberta near Wetaskiwin. Temperatures near 85F, dew points at 60, 44 knt deep layer shear, 2900 j/kg and -6 lift. If it looks consistent and hasn't changed dramatically by about friday, I say you should come up here.
Hey Cors, I'll definetly be chasing today in west-central Germany. This setup looks awesome.

I need a smart chaseplan since the gas price is at 1.53 € per litre (2.39 USD per litre or 9.06 USD per gallon).
Good luck to you, Cors!
