An outbreak of tornadoes is possible today from Eastern OK/Northeast TX eastward through the Lower Mississippi River Valley. Wind shear will be most favorable for strong tornadoes along an E-W warm front forecast to move northward across AR/MS through the day. Due westerly upper flow will allow for storms to move eastward parallel to the boundary, increasing further the chance for long-track tornadoes. CAPE values will be significant, contributing to the formation of massive hail stones. The warm front can be seen clearly on the WRF forecast CAPE for 00z this evening - forecast to be along I-40 at this time. The strong trough responsible for this severe weather episode can be seen in the WRF forecast 500 mb map for 00z (see below):
We're currently driving toward an initial target of Little Rock, AR, and will reposition from there depending on the location of the warm front. Stay tuned to the live tracker as at least 2 streaming teams will be chasing today!
The WRF has held the warm front farther south all along ... if the GFS verifies, this will probably turn out to be a very significant, widespread tornado outbreak. The NAM is looking a little more like the GFS now ...
TNV headed to Little Rock... what else is new? :-/
well... here we go again... You boys going to get some good ones today?
It seems that Reed and co been having a hard time connecting yet this year. How many miles have you'al travelled so far this season?
Looks like a pretty widespread area for possibility.. Hope you guys find the right area and connect.
Mr T
i sense a EF here... please be careful...
Hey guys... The SPC has issued a Moderate risk for just about all of Georgia for tomorrow. That's where I live and I am thinking about doing some chasing tomorrow. We don't get these very often. What do you guys think? Any suggestions will be welcomed...
Good luck to everybody chasing today!! I hope you guys get some really great footage. I am at work this morning... but I'll be checking back throughout the day to see what's happening!
Well today looks like a great day for chasing. Happy chasing (lol)!
Happy Chasing today! It will be great to watch the live shots, this bored old Mom of 3 needs something fun to do today. :-)
Stay safe
Man here we go again.....NC got slammed Thursday, with an EF3 tornado touchdown in Forsyth County. 1 dead, 3 inj. Also, JM, you should go chasing. Just be sure to bring food. I'm serious, dealing with tornadoes can make you very hungry. Another big tip: buddy up if you can. But seriously GO FOR IT!! Good luck to you, and all in the moderate risk area today.

Interesting video article on the twister sisters on yahoo.
Anyway, happy chasing everyone!
I'm currently heading east on I-30 from DFW. "Riders on the Storm" by the Doors just played on the radio lol. For some reason that has happened on all of my storm chases this year...
I'm not sure you've seen this, very cool video of cars being tossed by tornado.

Sorry here you go
Tornado Watch issued for Eastern Kansas into NE Okla, SW Missouri, NW Ark. My county is the northern-most county included in the Tornado Watch. I think this is the first time this year we've been included. Although, I don't expect much to happen here after looking at the Moderate Risk prediction area - we are the slight risk area. Dewpoint only 51 right now and temp at 56. We'll see if that changes.
Happy Hunting Guys! Stay Safe!
Good luck to all chasers out there today! It looks to be an interesting (and exciting) day unfolding. SPC watch boxes are in place, and chasers are on their way... ;)
As for me, I've got a Saturday off, and about $25 for gas. I guess I can always chase dust-devils if I have to. haha.
hey. good luck with the chasing today.hope its a good one.
oh and the spookiest thing...twister just came on tv.
of all the movies...
Good luck guys! Stay safe, too.
Ohh yay, Full Force Nature is on right away. Almost every episode has had something of Reed's that I've seen!
Maybe that'll be good luck or something ;)
Good luck guys. Nice to have a chase on at the weekend when I can stay up late to watch it!
Twister is on here too (UK) maybe it's a good omen
redsteph: yeah i'm in the uk! heh.
hoping this hot weather we're having is gonna lead up to at least a big thunderstorm!
and yeah it is nice to have a weekend chase.
i have a friend in texas, she says she might head east for the day, hoping its gonna be a big one.
Good luck you crazy dudes! You rock.
Was just thinking the same thing redsteph!
Oh... and that driving up to some other dude holding a camera totally freaked me out! lol..
we had a thunderstorm last night here (Bristol) Only I missed it as I was in the pub!
Ah that's a shame. Heard about the storm on the radio.. I live right on the south coast, which is good when storms are coming across the channel, but otherwise nothing happens here of any real interest!
Has anyone else not got a picture on the tracker or have they stopped streaming?
Hmm not a single tornado shown on Full Force Nature this time.
Hope that's not a sign!
I have "traveling" on Stream 1 and guys walking around in front of the camera on Stream 2.
hmm.
i've got people walking about on the tvn stream.
and the same on stream 3, but at a different angle.
and i did have travelling on stream 2, but it got disconnected i think.
