Persistent tornadic supercells have developed late this afternoon into the evening along a stalled cold front in central TX.  Ambient environmental shear there does not look favorable for tornadoes, with no winds greater than 15 knots below 500 mb!  However, the storms have been propagating southward resulting in fairly good storm-relative low-level shear (similar to what happened during the Elie, MB tornado last year but not nearly the magnitude).  Three tornadoes have been reported in Bell Co, TX with the strongest supercell as of 8:00 pm CDT.  Further north in the western Great Lakes, several tornadic supercells have produced hoses from eastern IA to southern WI.  Damage has been reported with these tornadoes, but no pictures or video have yet surfaced.  Tomorrow looks interesting...We'll definitely be chasing and will have the streaming video at full force!

storms are merging into a storm complax perhaps an mcs because i think cold front is catching up to them and they are running with the cold front

tomorrow should be a good chase day with supercells likely 2,000 cape or more with lapse rates steep like today and storms should pop as cap erodes east of dryline and south of a bouindary that is spraking storms today shear should give supercells with strong instability and lowl level shear likel today should support a similar threat but more supercells and a bit stronger flow aloft

That supercell might be hooking again. Keeping an eye on it.

I think I'll start a thread in the forums to discuss tomorrow for anyone interested...

next week should be a tornado outbreak the strom prediction says in 4 to 8 day outlook at very least a high end severe threat and today there should be tornado large hail and damaging winds as supercells at first last through evening but later on organize into mcs clusters with winds hail near severe

It was very eerie yesterday watching this cell in Texas. It looked so much like the Jarrell cell, it was almost in the same place too. Propagating southwest. I believe the SPC used the term "Jarrellesque" to describe last night's situation in Texas in their nightly outlook.

i think andrew texas might get a isolated strong tornado given strong deep shear supporive of supercells and very unstable cape moist boundary layer and suffiant low level shear with south east winds changing to different direction aloft

I was following this one but hard to tell most of the time cause of the low clouds and trees around. Too much rain. I was sitting in the parking lot near Sparta rd in Belton and saw rotation in the clouds but still hard to tell. Punching through the core was hail hell! I was also talking to the lady at the CVS and her car got hit hard and she just bought it brand new. no comprehensive coverage. lol

My aunt who lives in Belton, Tx was on the phone with my grandmother here. During the conversation my grandmother heard the sirens kick on and my aunt said about the tornado warning and that they had go to take shelter its was about a mile from she was and that she heard it.

I don't NEED to chase......

Past few years, the damned things have been coming to ME! I kid you not - no matter which direction it's coming from, it ALWAYS seems to change course and head STRAIGHT FOR my city!

Bet you $5 that at least 1/4 of them touch down in Wisconsin.

Was also another tornado warning in Texas about an hour ago. HOPEFULLY there was no touchdown (being after dark and all, would be impossible to see until you were inside it!).

I saw the one in Belton for like a split second before going rain wrapped. Little needle funnel, that probably only lasted 30 seconds on the ground, maybe shorter. I also did notice the Jarrell-esqe of this supercell, except this one was movin with decent speed
