Supercells have initiated along the cold front in OK, AR, and MO this afternoon and propagated southward ahead of the surging boundary. Looking at the recent RUC analysis, 0-1 km helicity values are approaching 150 m2/s2 with a 20 knot southwesterly low-level jet. Given southward storm motions, the storm-relative low-level shear is even higher. I wish I would have looked at this earlier!!!!!!! The loop of the Muskogee Co, OK storm including the time it had the tornado on the ground is shown below:

haha Checotah, Carrie Underwood's home town, is about to get hit by a tornado!
AR. AR. AR. I think the Atlanta event is the only time Arkansas has NOT been mentioned in a significant severe weather occurrence this year.
Three straight months of hills hills hills, trees trees tress. This certainly isn't a "bust year" but it is for chasers.
Rotation in okmulgee - that one may go TOR
In after my horse went TOR warned
What a night!
Yeah, this totally took us all by surprise!! I thought nothing was going to happen because of the strong cap. But when I looked at shear and helicity values I was shocked. And soon afterward, storm after storm was becomming tornado warned8-O
Still looking good for next week....hopefully we will get something out of this.
Geez...this so took me by surprise!!!!!!!!
Watching the storm in Pont. county OK. in Ada/ Allen area .... front still not pass me lol . HHHMMM night time run?
i actually was surprised that they didn't call a tornado warning cause this thing looked pretty strong and steady
hmmmm...... If this is hapening now, I can only wonder what may happen tomorrow!
Jake: Probably a quad-state tornado :))
this is not related to tornadoes but it is weather.
Thunder snow coming out of the Alberta foothills tonight
lol, I can only hope SonNy! As long as it goes through mainly rural areas and is visible from my houes that is ;)
Thundersnow huh? boy that would be something to see... (or hear hehe)
Thunder and lightning at 2am here in Ohio with some heavy rain, temp has risen all the way 61! snow tomorrow though.
Reed.....Got the tornado near Council Hill this evening, was rain wrapped for most of its life cycle. Damage is now being reported just north of Council Hill....Got pics, radar and velocity scan on my website. www.ExtremeChaseTours.com
I will try to send you a pic if I have time...really tired

Great pictures Lanny!
Thanks Caro...kinda low contrast, but a tornado is a tornado.
Reed, got your e-mail, if I have time Ill fill you in later
Sunday/Monday look really good at this point and I do not have anyone day booked for those days so I should be out somewhere. Ill try to call you later
Lan
I agree with Lanny, late this weekend and early next week is looking very interesting..
ample moisture, adequate and strong cape, high wind profiles and warm temperatures will all support widespread severe weather, including the risk for tornadoes! I am so excited and I can't wait!:D
Yeah, Sunday and Monday could get interesting.
Latest GFS ensembles all consistent with possible convection throughout my DMA, WRF also hinting at possible strong tornadoes with helecity values over 250M2/S2. Would not be surprised if the boys down in Norman upgrade most of Oklahoma to a moderate by tomorrow!

Sunday looks very good , I will be on this one.
I'll be on the lookout on the Northern End of this system, from IL, As of right now, it looks like i'll deal with the leftovers from Sunday's and then we'll have our real threat Monday.
Looking at heading south/Southeast towards Jackonsonville IL, Maybe hang out somewhere just Southwest of Springfield.
Wow, does this one have the possibility of being our next (real) High risk?
And will we get any severe weather out east here in TN?
The new tracker is going to be incredible!
A post about Sunday's severe weather is coming soon. This could be the apocalypse
Jake (in TN)...
As of right now, looks like you may on Monday. Infact, Monday looks very nice as well.
In Reeds words...."This could be the apocalypse"
hmm..
Hey Reed I like the "this could be the apocalypse" line. My dad and I will be out chasing Oklahoma...again. LOL
as i said earlier in the year may get a tornado season as hyperactive as the 2005 hurricane seasons.
I'm thinking around 1800-2000 tornadoes in the USA this year. and as much a 500 in Canada (normally gets 80 in a year)
When it goes to tornadoes look west. west of the Mississippi and Manitoba/Ontario border. looks like the east may just get poured on. Below normal temps are forecast for eastern Canada at least. A break for the hot smoggy summers i guess
I might be bike chasing for all I care!!! This looks like a widespread and significant severe event! To quote Reed "this could be the apocalypse" !!!
AAAAAAA!! akhfkshlkshdaslajdskshdkshd!!
LOL
Well what risk level do ya'll think we will have?
For those interested in Canadian chasing.
