Check out this video taken by a local resident of Prattville, AL as he was nearly within the circulation of the 1/4 mile wide EF3 tornado that devastated parts of this community just north of Montgomery, AL. It appears that this video was just now uploaded to Youtube since it only has 11 views at the time of this post!

That was awesome. Finally someone who stood there the whole time with the camera instead of running at the last second.
wouldn't you be running when a force 3 tornado comes right to your face?
Great video though
When I spend dollars and dollars on gas and drive across multiple states just to try and see one, I am not going to run when one actually comes to me. That guy was behind a good wall it looked like. I would like to think I would have stayed there too, though I would be running out once it was over to watch it keep going.
Wow! very close though I would have to agree with Wes.
Could have been real bad for that guy, but I would have done the same thing.
I totally agree.... Awesome!
I have to say it didn't seem like it was really close to him, maybe like across the street or the next block or something. Though it looked like the inflow was pretty strong from setting off the car alarms and pulling out the chair.
If no one minds me going a bit off-topic, there's to be a lunar eclipse starting about 7 or 8 EST tonight for most of North and South America. Europe and Africa can see it around dawn. More info can be found here -

I almost posted this in the "reports" section on the forum last night at about the same time as you posted it here, Reed! I didn't feel like writing any more than "here's a video..." so I didn't post it. I found it on our chief's blog; he posted it at 10:07 last night :D
Wow, that's crazy!
lol, that looks way too much like what I'd be doing ;P
Crazy video and I would have done the same thing. I mean the dude was shielded from the debris from the stairs.
Nasty here in Ohio with about 2-3 inches of snow today and another storm on Thurs or Friday for us.
OMG that is nuts!!!!!!!!!!! Love the video.
WOW!!!! That was increadible video!!!
And I agree with Wes.... I would have stood there and filmed the whole thing:D
That was pretty cool.. I liked how you could see all the debri and the chair at the end being sucked out intot he open.. I thought it was going to come right at him at one point.. VERY COOL, AND VERY BALLSY!
WOW that tornado was very close evean though the vorte was not right on the I bet that was inflow jets prolly around 90 MPH! Hope every one gets to see the eclips!
Whoa... insane!! And that, kids, is how you get up close and personal... lol. Zack and Wes, count me in on that action. ;)
Looks like we could have another tornado outbreak!

Nice vid
I dunno Caleb... that's a pretty small area. it's possible, but I'm not seeing it as bad as was first thought.
On another note, Sweet, the Eclipse looks great tonight! :)
I think so too, only about 10-15 mins left of the total eclipse before it starts moving out of earth's shadow again.
Yeah, we only got a partial total eclipse lol
the darkest part went just above the moon from what we saw here. I'll post pics when it's over.
