Great vid Mike!! Brrr I swear I can feel the cold from my monitor after that!! Brrr!! I'll be sure to watch Trutv tonight!!
And.......that video was the start of it all.
VERY cold and icy here in Michigan - the roads are still pretty icy - but the winds have died down. We are bracing for yet another storm tomorrow. Heating bill last month was 200 - I need spring.
Watching it right now, great show Reed.
What he didn't know was the tornado he was chasing was an F5?? They did an ok job of making ya sound a lil green at the time!! I guess they need to do that for the show though. You knew it was F5 by the time you were under the bridge!! They shoulda showed the part when you guys were running down the street chasing it!! Great job on the show!! You do really well on camera!!
haha. I love that footage. The show was pretty awesome. 2 thumbs up! After that tornado though, I made a little note to myself: overpasses aren't safe at all. I've remembered it since.
Nowcast as of 8:59 PM CST on January 30, 2008
Now
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will be moving northeast across parts of central and southern Arkansas through 11 PM. Movement will be northeast at 45 mph. Gusty winds...sleet and snow can be expected with these storms.
and we are having sleet right now ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
no advisorys yet though- but i expect that to change- especially if the low goes further south
You would be amazed at how many people still stop under overpasses here in OK. They always stop there to dodge hail or atleast I think that is the excuse. On our Oct 17th chase, we were going on the turnpike in OKC and so many people had stop under the overpass they completely blocked the interstate. Stupidest thing I have ever seen. They nearly caused a massive pile up. Lucky for them there wasn't an F5 bearing down that time.
Hi everyone! it's been a long time!
If things didn't change, I'll be under a snowstorm to begin the weekend! This is for ontario, but the storm will also touch the Quebec

Another ripple in the jetstream over the american southwest this evening is poised to give life to yet another significant low pressure system over Oklahoma on Thursday. This weather system will be well positioned to tap a considerable amount of moisture off the gulf of Mexico which will aid in the intensification of this low as it heads northeastward towards the Maritimes this weekend.
The centre of the low pressure disturbance is currently forecast to track just south of the lower lakes and intensify as it passes through. Snow heavy at times is expected to affect an area encompassing the Golden Horseshoe to Peterborough to Ottawa and including most of eastern Ontario. At this time it looks like the snow will begin to overspread southwestern Ontario Thursday overnight reaching the Ottawa area on Friday morning. Latest analysis has this storm producing a swath of 20 to 30 centimetres of snow over the Golden Horseshoe to Trenton to Ottawa corridor with snow falling throughout the day on Friday.
Depending on the track of the low the amounts of snow over a specific region could vary considerably. Environment Canada continues to watch the development of this system.
Listen for further statements. Additional information may also be found by consulting the latest public forecast. The next public forecast will be issued by 11 AM.

We had sleet too. We also have a Winter Storm Warning (ssshhhhhhhh!!!!!!! don't say it too loudly!)
Reed, how many tornados had you seen up until that point (May 3rd)? Just a few, right? And, you guys didn't really stop there thinking the tornado was coming right at you & you would ride it out a la the Kansas Turnpike video, did you? I've always wondered :P ... I didn't see the show, obviously, because we only get ABC & PBS here, but I need to know - did they emphasise the Tracker at all? ;D
i am very suprised jacksonville hasn't been put under at least an advisory yet
The 00z nam looks very interesting for northern into northeast OK for a major snowstorm. We may even get significant snow as far south as Norman. Hopefully the southward trend in the models will continue!
Heidi: I had only seen 3 tornadoes before the May 3 tornado....two simultaneous on Oct 9, 98, and one the day before on May 2, 99 in the Texas Panhandle before the upper system ejected. We really didn't know what we were doing out there! But definitely learned a lot about storm structure on that day.
Hey people was out working. Glad to see nobody has frostbite. Glad to see all the media coverage taht Reed and Joel gets. I still think they the best chasers and one can learn alot from them.
Donny thanks for your views man I sure hope I get back to the states intime for spring. Hopefully Im lucky this year and see a close one. The catus Tulia one missed us last year it came pretty close, I was busy palnting corn so couldent go and take some pics.

well time will only tell if our predictions are right or not henri
I just saw the outlook for today, and theres a hatched area that mentions 10% chance of an ef2-5 tornado...shouldn't this be a moderate risk for today or am i missing something?
