The latest RUC model is still predicting convective initiation over the next 2-3 hours over the Foothills of Alberta, moving into the Plains by evening. Initation will likely occur west and northwest of Calgary, and west of Edmonton. The upper disturbance can be seen on satellite moving across the Rockies of British Columbia, and this disturbance should help initiate the storms.

im too impatient ...i need beer lmao.
There gonna pop up right over my head! This is awesome!
Thanks for the update Reed, been watching all day also.
Where are you Dale?
Sw of Red Deer here.
Storms look to be initiating West and WNW of Edmonton right now.
You can see a line developing between wetaskawin and wainwright. I'm in St.Paul right now!
That cell by Edson looks good!
A line developing from slave lake to wainwright
storms no where near Wetaskiwin if fact it is east of Camrose
I believe more lines will form as the cap is eroded by the jet stream
Anyone want to take a guess as to how many times Reed and/or Joel will say things like, "AAAAAAAAA vbiewfjkdlfgke, I wish we had gone" tonight?!
:-D
Thinking Reeds probably doing that right about now....lol
Some areas in Alberta have upgraded from watches to warnings. Means nothing but i thought id put it out there.
K so this could be a really dumb question but ill ask it anyways...im looking at ECs radar for alberta...and im just wondering if the dark purple in the cells mean hail or not?
this thing looks wicked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
