Tornado Watches issued for the Northern Plains/MN

Two tornado watches have been issued over central/eastern ND and northern MN for this afternoon/evening.  The capping inversion has been holding strong so far, but cold air aloft associated with a strong shortwave is now moving into the Northern Plains.  The low-level jet will begin to intensify soon, so any supercells will have increasing potential for tornadoes.

There will never be a tornado on the iron range in Minnesota...regardless of a tornado watch.

There have been many tornado touchdowns in the Iron range and in the north shore area.
Problem is, mostly touching down where nobody lives its
pretty hard to report about. But my cousins are loggers in the Superior national forest area and have seen them devastate large tracts of woodlands.

Melanie: I'll start looking for some info.

I'll be posting a satellite picture of the Wisconsin tornado tracks from June 7...the long tornado track shows up very nicely in the dense trees.

Click on the link on my name and you will see the that even
Little Fork that is farther north then Hibbing had them.

My Cousin lives in Brimson out in the middle of the woods
and saw one touch down near his place a few years back.
