Several tornado warnings have been issued this afternoon for supercells in southwest Missouri.  An outflow boundary has been initiating convection over this area today, with deep-layer shear locally enhanced by a jet streak associated with a mesoscale convective system to the northeast.  Here is a radar image as of 5:20 pm CDT from Springfield, MO.

near Jasper.

I live ten miles northwest of Asbury (and used to actually live IN Asbury), but didn't get to see this particular funnel cloud yesterday. I was off chasing up north, when there was a tornado warning for the northern portion of Crawford Co. I saw the rotation detected with a strong cell that moved through Barton Co. in west Missouri, but overall the chase was unproductive. It's been crazy having two tornado warnings for my county since Thursday. I'm ready for more!

Hey1 Well, today is our 2nd of 3 days of severe weather. today is warmer and more humid, so storms are likely. In fact, The Weather Network and Environment Canada are saying "A Tornado Watch is very likely today in Southern Manitoba". Sweet! This is so awsome! I cannot wait for todays storms!

Here in Southern Ontario (Canada, not California) it was a gorgeous day, all sun, light breeze, warm but not too hot, not too humid. Couldn't ask for a better day to be locked up inside my office :(
