A strong squall line/bow echo moved through Norman, OK this morning, with several severe thunderstorm warnings issued in central/southern OK. We only experienced ~40 mph winds here in Norman, but we were located in a relatively weak part of the line. Shown here is the radar image from about 15 minutes after the line moved through! The most intense winds with this mesoscale convective system (MCS) would be located near the leading edge of the apex of the bow-shaped echo. 60 mph winds were just reported in Wellston, OK as I type this post!

I'm watching the Oklahoma City Webcam, the clouds look full of rain i hope there is some lightning action!
I only glanced at the radar this morning, but is this following the same track as the bow echo yesterday evening? I was just reading about these on the NOAA site yesterday and then there are 2 within 12 hrs.! Weird!
looks like that squall-line is braking up. But Reed is
getting very heavy rain!!!
Hey there's really cool video footage of tornados in the sea coming up on to the land check it our here go to: http://www.itvlocal.com/meridian/weather/ and scroll down to Twister hits the Cliffs. The sound is so loud.
What do you think?
JaclynUK i've seen that vid like 100 times!!!
I've never seen a spout as powerful as that. Ours don't even reach the water they just sit up in the sky and then disappear.

I watched the squall line as it moved into north texas this morning I was 20 miles south of Sherman (about 2 miles north of Van Alstyne.) there was a report of large hail made from that area but never did see not even one piece of hail the whole time. it may have been very localized. Winds did get pretty gusty. I got one reading of 48 mph. Lots of heavy rain. lots of streets, ditches and small creeks running very full, fields were holding lots of run off as well. some of them looked like small lakes. Lightning show was great saw quite of few anvil crawlers on the viewing from NW looking SE side of storm as it was leaving the area. lots of CG as well. Not a very exciting storm but the rain fall rates were impressive and watching how fast everything started flooding was pretty incredible. Not very much to look at cloud wise lots of very low level stratus blanketed the area. I am hoping the next few days will bring us some severe weather. The SPC keeps changing there outlooks. everybody stay safe.
Tomorrow could be interesting when the LLJ kicks in...we'll see what the 00z models show.
all of the formula seems to be there for tomorrow. we will have just wait to see if it all comes together. Looks like from my forcast as of right now that SW KS, NW OK and texas panhandle looks like where it's all going to happen for tomorrow. it does look like however things could go more east.
The storms came through here in Dallas about mid-morning. The strongest part of the storms ripped the whole roof of a Discount Tire Co. about 15 mins from my house, and my whole neighborhood is flooded from all the rain in the past week.
That wasnt a big tornado caleb. That was weak. I couldve ran through that one on foot.
well stormyyou can never tell how fast a tornado.
i've seen a tornado that was 200mph. and it was only
10 yards wide!
I woke up this morning to pouring rain, strong winds and tons of thunder. The Discount Tire that Andrew is talking about is about 3 minutes from my house. I saw it today.
Talk about a surprise. SPC didn't have us in their outlook until it was already happening.
I just got power back after losing it 9 hours ago
wow. was it that line of sever t storms?
David
Caleb, I can answer for David.

We lost power several times, but just for a short time.
Last I heard there were 16,000 dfw area people without power.
