Scattered supercells developed today in central/eastern ND and also southern Manitoba, with the action spreading into MN overnight. One tornado was reported at 6:52 pm CDT in Griggs Co., ND by a trained spotter. This tornado was likely weak and brief given that only one report was received, and the weak low-level shear values. Here is the radar image from Fargo, ND as of 8:30 pm CDT.

See? I knew storms would develop!!!!! lol!
Any reports in Manitoba Jonathan??
Rain here outside of Dallas!!! I know it's nothing, but I still haven't gotten used to it after like 3 years of almost no rain at all.
Reed......yes, there were some reports up here in Southern Manitoba. They were mainly of large hail and damaging winds, in areas Southeast of Winnipeg. Us here in the city didn't get any storms whatsoever, due to the fact that the front came through Winnipeg much earlier than expected. Oh, well..we had a thunderstorm or two last night, producing spider-like crawling lightning above my house. It was amazing to watch! Do you know if there is a severe storm threat likely in the same areas as today, anytime soon? I would really like to know. Thanks! I'll post on any additional reports whenever I can. See ya for now!
@ jonathan
Were you able to make any vid's of those "crawlers"? I just love to watch them hehe :)
Jonathan one day I was in a towering cumulus cloud
and there was spider-like lighning with a small tornado
It was cool
Sorry, but no, I wasn't. There were to many trees in the way by my house to take adequate shots. Not to mention my camera is crap, and doesn't work at all. It's broken. Gotta get a new one soon! Maybe someone I know will be generous enough to buy it for me, speaking that me birthday is soon...lol! Well, sorry guys 'bout not getting any vids/pics. I gotta go, and I'll check if there are any storm report updates, so I may be back soon!
why isn't anybody posting
I just have to thank you Reed for posting about the severe weather - both real events - and the upcoming forecasts! I have been coming to your site since I found it right after the Greensburg, KS tornado. I love that you are on top of things all the time and giving us updates on a regular basis. I am a new loyal "regular" even if I don't always post something. :D I hope there are some exciting events this week for ya! (and us!) Good luck to you and Joel and "the team" in the remaining severe weather season! Thanks for everything!
Same here for me. Thanks for all the postings about severe weather! There's hardly any severe weather. Last time I remember was on july 17th 2004 when The Netherlands got struck by some severe weather (some pics here: http://www.meteobeerta.nl/shelfcloud.htm and here: http://www.astro.uu.nl/~scheepmk/shelfcloud1.htm). So tornadovideos.net is basically my only connection. :)
I might visit the US soon again someday when visiting my relatives, and hope to catch some severe weather. Though I do not plan to go actively find some tornadoes, as I just lack the knowledge to do a safe and succesful chase. I do not want to put myself in great danger, so I will stick to your vids instead heheh.
Thanks again guys!
