This supercell developed in the Pecos Valley of TX, and moved southeastward into Mexico, where it exploded into an incredible supercell as it moved into deeper moisture. With a massive hook echo, and strong couplet, this supercell likely had a tornado on the ground over northern Mexico.

The road network over this part of Mexico is HORRIBLE, or several tornadoes would likely be seen here. During the early spring, tornadic supercells are very common over this part of the country. The storms often initiate over the mountainous terrain in the center of the Big Bend region to the west of the above supercell, and move eastward over the adjacent plains. A low-level jet often intensifies in this area just after sunset with an upper-level storm system to the west, often resulting in favorable low-level shear for tornadoes. One of these years, we plan on crossing the border and chasing one of these monsters!

I was watching this one on radar last evening. It seemed to just sit there forever! And the radial velocity image looked like a sure thing too.
It will be tough to chase a fast moving supercell on a bunch of donkeys through Mexico. Good luck though. If anyone can do it, it's you Reed. Ariba!!!
That area must get 10 tornadoes/year! I wonder if anyone has any images of tornadoes from there. I bet you could see them from the Rio Grande. I've chased down there a lot and you can see forever.
Is there any where I can find storm reports from Mexico. I was also watching that supercell on radar to, I know the radar keeping showing strong rotation.
I don't think so...I've looked for such a site for years and have not been able to find one.
It looks huge down there next week!
Stay tuned for updates.
Thanks Reed, I know I have googled my heart out trying to find something on storm reports in Mexico and haven't found anything. I have even talked to one of the Meteorologist from Accuweather.com and he told me that he has never even found one. You would think that the Weather Service in Mexico would have something like but I guess not.
We have a few reports of tornadoes at year, I heard once in news that a F-2 tornado touch down near Toluca, Edo. de México, in Reynosa in 2004 they had one F-0, in Ciudad Acuña in 1989 an F-4 tornado destroyed part of the city, but we don't have too much to show, and our weather service has not reports about it because tornadoes are not common and doesn't put in risk our population, seldom happens but never kills, for example, we have thunderbolt's in the biggest cities but will be used for earthquakes, never for tornadoes.
Anyway, my english is awfull hehe.
Check this link, this article about a tornado registered near Puebla, México. Actually there is a vídeo, but I can't find it yet.
