Over a foot of lake effect snow has fallen over western Michigan over the last 24 hours, and wind gusts have exceeded 35 mph often. The pictures below are from just east of Grand Rapids, MI, where an additional foot of snow is possible by Sunday afternoon.

They ended up with over 2 feet there near the Grand Rapids Airport...It's amazing how the sun shines through even during heavy snow showers.
Burrr....it is 1 degree up there. Glad I live in the south, that does not look fun at all!! Reed you are amazing to be covering such events in so many other states. You are the man!!!
It's still very windy and snowing here, with the sun shining through at times. The roads are still very snow covered and dangerous...wouldn't be surprised to see schools closing tomorrow. The wind chill is so severe that it's hard to be outside even to clear snow from the driveway.
Yeah it looks like the winds are shifting to a more westerly direction once again...Your snowfall should intensify in Grand Rapids again in the next hour...if it hasn't already!
