Heavy freezing rain has been pounding central Oklahoma throughout Sunday afternoon and into tonight, with even more intense convective development near the Red River as of 12:30 am CST, which will be moving into the OKC area in the next few hours. Here is a radar loop from over the last few hours:

Snapping trees can be heard every few minutes, and several transformer explosions have been seen to the west and north, where the most significant ice accumulations have occurred. A majority of the power outages have been reported in the OKC Metro area, but Southeast Norman also lost power about 15 minutes ago. This is a very dangerous situation! Stay tuned for updates!

Just drove around Norman and there are numerous roads blocks by trees. There were some neighborhoods that I could barely get out of. I may need to make a drive just after sunrise to get some more pictures. As I write this the thunder begins again. The place where i normally park my Jeep is covered with braches. I still expect the power to fail here.
Dave in southeast Norman has been without power for over an hour. As I write this I hear trees falling down outside. MASS CHAOS!!
It's a miracle we still have power.
wow Reed keep ya'self safe....
Zack was wainting for his power to go out yesterday, i havent spoken to him since yesterday lunch time( 6 am USA )....
Looks like you guys are getting pounded. I was supposed to go in to Tecumseh today, but they called and said they don't have any power.
There is a patch of precip just on the sw side of OKC right now in the 55-60 DBZ range!!!!!!! I saved it!
So far we've had about .75" of rain, and right now we are just outside this big band that's draped across the southern plains. It's all happening about a county to our north and to our west. Sad ...
I can't wait to see the rest of the photos
Suck it up, sissies.
