A strong cold front is currently moving through the OKC Metro area Sunday afternoon, with a 20+ deg F temperature fall anticipated over the next few hours. As of 2:30 pm CDT, temperatures were in the mid 40s across the western OK Panhandle, where light snow is forecast tonight, and in the 80s over southern and eastern OK east of the cold front. The radar loop below shows the sharp cold frontal boundary very well:

The Oklahoma Mesonet map below shows the insane temperature variability across Oklahoma, and the sharp wind shift across the front. I'm currently heading outside here in Norman to experience the abrupt temperature change.

Hey guys whats up?
Cool Reed! Try to get pictures of anytihng that comes your way!
Hi Kenny... Have you seen my site? If you have not here it is^^^
Reed i have a question.... i know im pobably going to sound stupid but i dont know lol
Why is it that on the diagram showing the temp variation and the wind direction that in the west the wind is blowing east, and in the east the wind is blowing west..... is that where a cold front and warm front meet there causeing changes in wind direction??
Tim Cold fronts don't always have to have a warm front.
Caleb i know that lol, but i was just wondering why the wind was in 2 different dirrections, east to west and west to east, just something i wanted to find out why that is?
Cool site Caleb! I'm pretty bored right now, not really warm out but Tomorrow and tuesday and wednesday AND thursday look to be 15-18C.
Im hoping that tonight some fog will form cause i really want to get some pics of the woods behind my house and lake because it looked amazing, ive been waiting for days aswell.....
Hey Tim how's is it going? I'm so bored and the cloud's have finally tooken over the sky. I'm waiting on snow...1 more week left till I'm suppose to get it because the temperatures are going to drop amazingly low in just 1 or 2 days. Tuesday will be 18C and then wednesday 16C and then on thursday the temp drops by 10 degrees.
Hey Kenny....yeh things are ok thanks....how bout you?...
Wow thats a huge drop in temperature hope you get your snow, know you have been waiting for a while :D

This is the view from his home. Im not completly sure, but notice near the top left of the photo, the brightness, That may be the fire.
AndrewMN..Those are some Awesome shots from Black Lake Mi! Kinda makes me miss my Home STATE!
djkenny_123@hotmail.com It's on my site Tim! Just figured out why temperatures are dropping, It's because a cold front is going to move in making the temperature go from 18C-4C
I'm gonna want to be outside whenever this front hits here in Dallas, but I don't really know when it will be. Where is that first radar loop from?

I just had the front move through.. It was pretty awesome.
The really awesome part was the number of geese migrating with this front. We heard thousands for like the last hour we have been outside.. They were White Fronted Geese AKA specklebellies. Heard some snow geese too.. Some of them are flying so low you could see them. Thats pretty low considering my town has like only 3 lights to light up the night sky.
You know winters on it's way when you hear and see the geese migrating.
reports of people trapped in the fire along State Route 78
All 36,000 residents of Ramona were ordered to evacuate tonight because of a wind-driven brush fire in northeast San Diego County
fires the severe weather of CA..... As long as people evacuate, and don't get caught on a fire consumed escape route the major loss will be houses etc.... I do have family near the target areas so, it could get hairy for them.
Here's local coverage:

Good Morning -

The San Diago situation is getting my attention
Wild Fires are never good... hopefully nobody gets hurt.
As for the cold, as long as we get our 2 week deep freeze to help combat the Mountain Pine Beetle, I'm not really looking forward to much snow or bitter cold this Winter.
That's awesome about the geese, ChaserBurns. I'll pay special attention this morning as the front comes through. I'm not expecting them to be as low as they were for you, since it's daylight now, but I expect a wave of them! We haven't noticed many geese at all yet this year, but it's no surprise that they got moving with this system.
Not good about the fires. Stay safe, everybody!
Man that Wildfire Situation in California is hard to watch on TV.
Hope Kevin and his Family got out Safe. This of course is ment for anyone affected by this get out safe!
My Heart goes out o all those People out there.
