Since we're already on the road, I haven't had time to post any model images, but the new RUC forecast is showing the best low-level shear over central/eastern OK northward into southeast KS by 21-00z. Since the dryline is oriented northwest to southeast across north/northwest OK north of the bulge, the storms will initiate west of the best shear to the north, but within or near the best low-level shear over central/southern OK later this afternoon. However, the storms that initiate in northwest OK will move rapidly northeastward into the good low-level shear. The tracker should be working from here on out. Good luck to all who are chasing!

Wild weather in Perry ! Counted three small barn's over turned . Thinking I am going to head back to southern Oklahoma , look's like it will be pretty good back home.
Good luck every one !

300 0-1 km helicity over all of western OK right now according to the RUC analysis...along with 1000-1500 uncapped east of the dryline...we're currently heading west on I-40 to await initiation!
Yeah Tim there is way more heading my way!!! This is just the begining
Reed, not sure if you know, but the tracker doesn't appear to be working properly.
If it does start to get serious keep yaself calm and make sure you know what to do.....but im sure you will be ok, with a group of people like this here you will know exactly what is going on....

Where are you located at Zack? I think the storms are set to kick off here in the next 15 minutes with things just getting worse as the afternoon and evening go on...they're calling for strong tornadoes with long tracks in my area. I wish I weren't stuck at my desk until 5:00!

How come i have a feeling Reed and Joel are driving the wrong way...then again i may be completely wrong.
see ya Zack good luck lol
just updated myblog on this..... its looking really good on gr3 lol i hope nothing bad happens over a populated area.
Thanks! It's working now. It's about to get busy here...the sky looks EVIL!! Evil I say!!
OK, now I'm starting to get VERY concerned here in Illinois! TWC has a scrolling crawl at the bottom laying out exactly how things are going to unfold here tomorrow, with very strong wording regarding large hail, strong winds, large, destructive tornados. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF THE EVENT!!
I know everyone is busy in OK and KS today, but it looks pretty d@mned serious here tomorrow.
I've already contacted my son's school this morning and the reaction was "Uhhh, so?". Now I think I will be driving to get him from this camp - this is crazy!!
Ben, You took the thought right outta my head.
West?
But to be honest... I've only been on one chase and that automatically makes me wrong I think.
I was thinking the same thing on the location...but then again, they've seen so many tornadoes that I'd trust their judgment on where they think the action is going to go down.
Anyone watching that brand new cell west of Taloga?
Guess that's why they're going west.
I know, it looks like they might be driving the wrong way. But they are not, the dryline is much further west. Here is a link from NWS (Norman OK) that might better explain their thinking.

Guys... I'm on for the moment.... My mom should be here to pick me up at any moment.... looking at recent models and SPC md's It still looks good for this evening!
See ya!
I knew they knew what they were doing. The storms so far seem to be a little bit north of where I'm at, but it looks like more are moving in. I'm in for an exciting afternoon!

Thanks Travis. Very helpful.
Well change of plans for me. Storm are starting to fire in western Oklahoma . So I am going to the west ! Reed if you a maroon car with a thousand antanna's, say hello lol. see ya'll under the storm
Jason Young
Sorry If you SEE . lol. have fun ya'll
Jason
They're heading west because that's the favorable environment for discrete supercells. After that first blob of stuff got out of there, the air is still very unstable, but the front hasn't passed yet. As it approaches, it will (most likely) cause explosive thunderstorm development in the form of discrete cells.
It's raining here now ... boring, yes, but our dewpoint is right at 70 degrees ... and a little later, when this stuff clears out, there will be some surface heating ... looks like a rough night here! I'm thinking this is an HP supercell day for Arkansas! 8-O
Oh, and I spelled vacuum wrong in the last thread. Typing too fast. :P
Just checked the tracker..... thay've been sitting there for about 20 minuts!
Hey Strike thanks for the info on the tracker. If you wait then it works. Sure hope a new line builds for some more storms late this afternoon. I am hoping to do some chasing in SW KS late this afternoon and early evening if something develops.
The tracker is working for me now but the radar part isn't showing up. Just fyi.
Hi Caleb AAAAAAAAAA!!!
they must be right in the middlof it all from what it shows on the tracker!
Looks like there is some new storms starting up just SW of where Reed is so he may soon get some good shots.
A red Dodge just went cruising up my road! IT'S A SIGN!!!!!!!!!
Reed & Joel must like the looks of this cell:

Tracker working 100% here.
If they are where the tracker says, they have set up in an excellent spot.
Serious stuff brewing there.
Stay safe folks!
Hey guys that have grlevel3, is the $80 price a one-time thing or is it $80 a year? My trial period of course ended yesterday right before things get interesting...
How fast are these cells moving??
50+ mph??
If so, that is frightening.
Hey all the chasers out there. I am in Pueblo, CO and would really really like to be able to get some action around where I am at.
Anyone close to me that is into the same thing, please feel free to hit me up. Take care Tornadovideos.net team. Looking forward to the updates, and I will stay posted. Take care... Will

Well well, there are 2 Andrews on here lol.
From now on I am AndrewMN ha ha. :)
Hey andrew do u know how to put the canadina cites on GR3???
Wow.. I cannot believe you just did that Heidi.
I think you just cost the author a lot of money.
I'm a bit shocked, actually.
that cell just north of shrevport lokslike it starting to hook a little bit or is it just me.
PB, Its the internet.... Could have spent 5 minutes looking and found the same thing.
I am going to be honest - There is some controversy as to whether or not someone should be making money off of radar that is funded by tax dollars. I got the # from someone else. If someone wants to delete that post, that's fine - they should do that.
Hey guys im back....
Heidi theres aornado warning in AR im sure you already know though lol
Looks like they have alot to choose from.
hey Heidi do you know how to put canadian cities on GR3. Just asking.
I think I need a crash course on the GR3. I've downloaded the trial version since it appears as though I am in the "belly of the beast" tomorrow. I've read enough on this site over the course of the year that I have an inkling of what I'm doing, but pointers would be appreciated if someone has the time.
Just for fun, I've put the link to the special weather bulletin issued for northern Illinois for tomorrow. Based on what I've picked up from this site and following the SPC site for a few years, I can infer the following:
1) This is the most serious statement I've ever seen - it is like issuing a tornado warning 24 hours in advance of the tornado!!
2) See #1
Click on my name to read the statement.
tomorow is gonna be crazy
i got a special weather statement for my county DuPage
right next to Cook county where chicago's at
my dad is gonna probably pick me up from school early
here's the statement thingy

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY THURSDAY AFTERNOON...
AN INTENSIFYING STORM SYSTEM CURRENTLY IN THE PLAINS WILL SURGE NORTHEAST INTO THE MID AND UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY THURSDAY. STRENGTHENING WINDS WILL DRAW MOISTURE FROM THE GULF AND HELP DESTABILIZE THE AREA TONIGHT. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD START DEVELOPING TONIGHT AS THE FIRST WAVE ROTATES THROUGH THE AREA AS A WARM FRONT. THESE FIRST STORMS ARE NOT LIKELY TO BE SEVERE CONSIDERING THE TIME OF DAY AND WEAKER AVAILABLE ENERGY.
BEHIND THIS FIRST WAVE...STORMS SHOULD SUBSIDE TO SHOWERS IN THE MORNING HOURS TOMORROW. THE SECOND WAVE HOWEVER WILL ARRIVE WITH THE COLD FRONT DRIVING EAST ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER SEVERAL HOURS AFTER SUNUP. IF SKIES BREAK OPEN IN THE MID TO LATE MORNING HOURS...SOLAR HEATING WILL ADD ENERGY TO AN ALREADY VIGOROUS LOOKING SYSTEM. THESE STORMS WILL ARRIVE IN THE EARLY AFTERNOON INTO NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND FINALLY CLEAR NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA IN THE EARLY TO MID EVENING.
STRONG DOWNBURSTS TO 70 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. LARGE DAMAGING HAIL ARE ALSO PROBABLE. IF NOT THREATENING ENOUGH...A FEW TORNADOES ARE ALSO POSSIBLE.
RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES IN NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA SHOULD BEGIN PREPARING NOW FOR THIS SIGNIFICANT BOUT OF SEVERE WEATHER. GATHER VALUABLES AND YOUR WEATHER RADIO AND KEEP TUNED TO TV AND RADIO TO KEEP ABREAST OF THIS DEVELOPING SEVERE STORM THREAT.
Well the WRF sure got it right last night. The supercells that it depicted in the precip forecast for Oklahoma are showing up on radar nicely now. Almost exactly the same spot as the graphic last night.
Here we go...
* AT 318 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF POCASSET...MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH. ANOTHER SEVERE STORM WAS 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF
EL RENO... ALSO MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH. HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF
QUARTERS AND WINDS OF 60 MPH ARE LIKELY.
40mph! Thats scary. Almost 70km/h.
The key has been removed. Heidi made a mistake and posted it - she asked me to remove it. Please do not post ANY registration keys for ANY software on this site. There are plenty of places to obtain software keys on the Internet - for those that do not want to go the proper route and purchase software other have spent time to develop.
Thanks,
Jason
Heidi any chance of me getting that code? thanks
thats not a lot of time to get warned if its moving that fast..... there are so many svr warnings out at the moment and 1 tornado warning...
Tim whats up guy????

Hey Matt....Not much, just waiting to see if that storm chaser thing is on Discovery tonight thats bout it...... how bout you??
sorry to go off topic, but does anyone know what kind of chance I have out here in west middle TN on Thursday for some good storms?
Here's your code ^^^
I am surprised there aren't any tornado warnings with the line in OK yet. That stuff looks a little too close together, like it's teasing us into thinking it's gonna go linear.

NEW WARNINS JUST POPPED UP
I just spoke to Reed. He is on the cell southwest of Oklahoma City. He says there is a NICE lowering and wall cloud, and looks like formation is immenient!!!
Doppler radar is public, the NWS has a great site for radar that is free and loops, gives distances, and velocity, base reflectivity, etc.................. This is what we all pay for.
Thanks JY....glad to see they are getting somewhere out there....looks as if that drought could be a thing of the past ( touch wood )
Heidi hey must beon that line that you just talked about.
there is a tornado warning that just popped on a storm that doent to inpressive but who knows
That warned storm now has a wicked hook.
lol Matt not very impressive lol :P
Nevermind just switched radar sites and i take that back it looks good.
Thanks for the update JY!
Was just about to say.. that cell sw of OK city looks like the best of the bunch, but nobody on spotternetwork is on it and Reed doesn't show on there for some reason.
A few look to be heading for it, but can they catch it? It's really moving. A lot of speeding out there today I'm guessing.
Look out Woodlawn Park/Bethany!
Matt dont you have GR3??

Watching tv and looking at various web sites tracking the storm. Not sure if its still on the ground.

I am seeing a TVS close to Warrensburg MO but there is also a ETVS east of Independence Mo.

The TV.net team appears to be pulled over on US177 just south of Perkins, OK. There are a number of other chasers around the tail end of that cell they've been on for a while now.
I'd sure like to see what they're seeing!
No more tor-warnings in KS, but there's 2 overlapping each other in extreme SE Oklahoma.

There are TVS all over west MO, but only the one has a warning associated with it
haha. There's still a little bit of rotation hanging in there south of Hutchinson KS. It just won't die out. lol

Last post.....
Caleb and Matt, i dont know what has gone wrong, its really wierd cause i can gt in mine but i guess its cause i payed for the site so it takes me off freewebs, im not sure.... anyway speak to you later!!
Im rather concerened at the moment,
The "Junk" over OK has died down now to a linear mode it appers, but more discreate cells may be firing, as the dryline looks like its stallig out.
However, Near the 4 point area, Vaules, Espucally over SE KS are INCREADBLE. AND I MEAN INCREADABLE
Effective Sheer is 85 Knots, BRN sheer 330 KNOTS, And it looks like all this may head there and that is where the outberak could take the Dangerous Large section of this.
I just caught a TVS with 166 knots just east of a town called Rockville MO.
With my math that's 190 MPH!
Tornado on the ground in SW Missouri north of Aurora and slightly east of Mount Vernon.
Tyler, that storm is getting a nice hook now.
Make that a massive hook!
Heidi, we need an update!!
Looks like things are getting hairy in your neck of the woods.

We're in a bit of a clearing area right now. I am starting to think that things are not going to be too tremendously rough now, but it will depend on how the stuff in western AR & sw OK starts to shape up. Still kind of drizzly and juicy out there, but no storms anywhere close to me.
There might be a tornado near Hallet. but i'me not sure that is a hookecho tho.... going to bed seya
Heidi do get the latest warning? THE WEATHER SERVICE AT HEIDI'S HOUS HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING FOR HER BED ROOM. WE ISUED THIS WARNING SHE NEEDS TO CLEAN HER ROOM. THIS TORNADO MIGHT BE RAIN WRAPPED. that was my job for the update ;)
Hey folks!! What am I missing?? I see tornado warnings everywhere!! hehe
