A damaging tornado was reported in south Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, England on Thursday, August 17.  Four people were injured and taken to a hospital in the town of Peterborough.  Tornadoes are quite common in England and are usually of the "cold-core" variety associated with strong occluded synoptic-scale cyclones.  The photos below are courtesy of the BBC and cre8tiveimages.com respectively.

Hey Guys! I Follow your adventures since the born of the site. I Live In France and I'm 15 years old. In France most of the documentary about tornadoes are aired in the night and it sucks. But.. WE WANT TORNADO GLORY IN FRAAANCE!
Please! Honestly..The films seems to be really good, not like the classics documentary who always says "how a tornado born?" "What is Fujita scale" Damn it! We want real tornado footage! and not old amateur footage!.
So, it was planned, 2006 is a crappy year for the tornadoes. Hop that 2007 will be better.

Yeah since 1995, 1999, and 2003 were huge years for tornadoes, maybe 2007 will be massive!

Have you done any stormchasing in France?

Yeah I Hope that 2007 will be better for you, and yes I've done some Storm chasing in France. But, It's not a Tornado country lol. Tornadoes are rare. I've got some video shot of lightning, hails, and some weeks ago my first Tornado shot! It was so great! I upload the picture, here is the link :

Nice picture! Where did you take that? Was it associated with a supercell?

Those are awesome pics. I think you probably did better than we did this year. 2006 was very bad for tornadoes in the states. But like Reed said, we've got high hopes for 2007.

You should come spend a May or June in the great plains. You'd have a blast chasing massive supercells.

Thanks, but I don't thing that those pic are better than you did! What you did is Great! My dream is to bo Storm Chaser, but.. I've got only 15 years old, no money "et voilà". Yeah! come spend a May or June should be great, But sorry I cant :). Yeah, Hope that 2007 will bebetter, but if there's no problem 2007 will be great..due to the global warming. We have very hight temperature in France, particulary in my zone (see the fraps map) We've got record tempertaure for this summer! so, September, October, November = Big storm, with flood and rain :).
