Today (Friday) has been an active day across parts of Saskatchewan as expected. Tornado warnings have been numerous across west-central SK with cold-core action, and across eastern Saskatchewan in the warm sector. The radar image below shows the supercell that has been tornado warned. It's unfortunate that I could not convince anyone to make the 27 hour drive, or we'd be driving through this tornado right now and rolling in a canola field.

I was just north of the tornado warned area going from Leroy to Punnishy and back and forth until we got tricked into going too far west, then north. I've posted some video on google video and put a slide show on my site.
I'm not even in the same country as Reed, but I would have paid for his gas to drive a meagre 27 hours to catch a tornado! I have been keeping an eye out on Reed's site for updates for any other outbreaks! Spread the word!
The video didn't make it onto google so I have switched to YouTube.... the latest is here:

The heat is forecast to return on Tuesday but I bet with so much moisture, we will see great storms all week. What a summer it has been. 2006 is already in the history books as the most active year ever, for storm chasing that is. Skys are clear now so I think Monday will be a surprise storm with good sunshine and more water in the soil than ever! What a year.... ok I'm drunk yes, but who cares.... ha ha ha ha
Nice storm! Was that a base maybe off to the right??
I heard there was a report of a small tornado 30 miles north of Regina...I've been looking for pictures but haven't been able to find any.
It looks like Canada may become the new tornado alley!!
