The TornadoVideos.net Extreme Weather Forum is a privately owned bulletin board intended to provide a friendly, civil environment where members of the general public and Meteorology community can discuss weather events and phenomena and directly interact with TornadoVideos.net meteorologists and storm chasers. As such, we require our users to abide by the following rules in order to maintain a courteous, informative, and exciting atmosphere free from personal attacks and flamewars. Failure to abide by either the letter or spirit of these requirements are grounds for administrative action.
1. Political and Religious discussions are not allowed. The purpose of this forum is not to engage in political or religious debate -- there are plenty of other forums on the Internet where you can engage others about these important matters. If you wish to discuss those topics with another user, you must do so via private messages.
2. Copyrights must be respected. We do not allow users to post material they do not either own the copyright for or have gained permission to use. If posted material is found to violate copyright laws, it will be removed and is considered grounds for account suspension.
3. All publicly available information copied from other sites must be linked to the original source. For example, it is fine to post NWS or SPC forecast discussions as many of our visitors may not know how to access this information, but you MUST provide a link to the original source. This is because we place a high value on educating our users, and providing them with a link to the original source will enable them to find this information on their own in the future. Repeatedly and blatantly ignoring this policy will lead to an account suspension.
4. Soliciting and advertising are prohibited. We do not allow users to advertise, solicit, or otherwise use this board for commercial interests or in an attempt to draw traffic to another website. Ignoring this policy will at minimum result in an account suspension, and is also grounds for a permanent ban.
5. Attacks on the moderators will not be tolerated. Our moderators work hard to make the bulletin board a hospitable environment for discussion. Their efforts are greatly appreciated, and any attacks on or complaints about their decisions will be grounds for suspending your account. Particularly egregious and repeated attacks will constitute grounds for being permanently banned from these forums, at the sole discretion of the site administrator.
6. Private messages are not monitored by our moderators. Our moderators will under no circumstances become involved with private discussions. If another user is harassing you, all messages from that user may be blocked by declaring him/her a "foe" in your private messaging preferences. However, in the event that threatening communications are alleged by one member against another, please note that all private messages are stored in our database and will be reviewed by the site administrator and will be submitted to the appropriate legal authorities if warranted.
7. Posting in ALL CAPS is not allowed . Short excerpts of text from NWS bulletins, etc. are fine.
8. PROFANITY IS NOT ALLOWED
