Some dear friends of mine are in Southern CA (PASADENA) as the fires have grown in size and intensity. the fires now threaten Mt. Wilson, the center of communications for the whole area, and my old back yard (ALTADENA) as well as my friends (PASADENA).

Kelton, some nice links there but i have to say that the first timelapse video is in a way awful to watch. Scary even.You almost expected the houses in the foreground to catch fire any second. Not good.

I fixed the link. Its pretty smokey, as the fires are going to reach it pretty soon. Those towers are the center for some TV stations, radio stations, and even cellphone towers. Firefighters have already cleared the area around the buildings to try and keep them from catching fire. That first video is pretty scary indeed.

Aside from California and it's yearly wildfires, when there's been dry summers in the rest of N America, and this time of year comes along with the many northern low pressure systems, the set - up can be catastrophic! Take care up there in Canada!!

I was just sorting all my photos and footage from this past year, and I dug up some photos of one of last year's wildfires here in Cali. Still can't believe I lost all the footage (accidentally!), but at least I still have some up close photos of the blaze. So I threw a bunch of photos together, shot some footage the other day of the re-growth in the burn area, and here we go!
