I hope I'm not stepping on anybody's toes here, but noticed there was no thread for the UK for this week yet. So I figured I might as well kick one off.
Ozzy does such a fine job of the charts (and I'm never sure which ones folk want to see), so I though I'd just start with an outlook for the week from the MO:
Headline:
Windy with rain and drizzle, mainly in the north.
Today:
A cloudy and windy day with a wet morning for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England. Western hills and coasts will stay damp but sheltered inland parts will some sunshine developing this afternoon. Strong and gusty southwesterly winds.
Tonight:
Staying windy everywhere and wet over Scotland and Northern Ireland with some heavy rain at times. England and Wales will be mostly dry and mild with some clear spells.
Tuesday:
Scotland and western fringes of England and Wales will be wet and windy with some heavy rain. Northern Ireland will see sunshine and showers with dry and bright weather elsewhere.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Sunshine and a few showers for Wednesday and Thursday then most places should be dry and fine on Friday with some sunny spells.
UK Outlook for Friday 9 Apr 2010 to Sunday 18 Apr 2010:
It should be mainly dry on Friday with sunshine in many places, although with a chance of a few showers or outbreaks of rain in the far northwest, and a slight chance of isolated showers in the southeast. Through the weekend and into the start of following week it looks likely that most areas remain dry with some sunshine, but with a chance of patchy fog and frost. That said, the far north may be cloudy with a little rain at times and there is still a slight chance of showers in parts of the south and east. Thereafter, it looks as though the weather stays mainly fair, although with some risk of rain in places. Daytime temperatures likely to be close to or above average, but remaining chilly overnight.
EDIT: I also meant to add, the rain has definitely set in here.. up to 10.3mm already and the radar showing plenty more on the way!
