On 23 / 24 July in Poland destructive bow echo / derecho occured. People living on the route of this storm, had to deal with the wind about 100 - 130 km/h (locally gusts could be even stronger).

We can see here DCP (Derecho Composite Parameter) to 8.39, while SBCAPE is equal to 3699 J/kg!
There are a really extreme value like to European conditions! In Poland DCP reached 4,2.

As good a first Post as i have seen since being a member here.
Not had a chance to look through everything yet but very impressed with what ive seen so far.
And personally i think Derechos are just awesome.

Very exciting storm video. I couldn't tell what they were saying, but I think it went something like this:

"I hope that tree doesn't fall on our car!"

And...

"Holy cow!-it's really blowing out there!"

And...

"Oh dear! Our neighbor left their window open!"



Great radar captures. Very serious bow echo there. I didn't see any reports of large hail, so that was a blessing.
The video of the firemen (?) chain sawing up the massive tree in the city was terrific too - it took a stiff wind to bring that old beauty down!!

It was in my hometown... but at that time I was on holiday in Egypt, so only what I saw was some video and radar maps...
When I'm at home nothing happend, but when I'm abroad....severe weather everywhere.......grrrr
