Very nice install Paul! Looks freaking great man. Just for future reference, to show pictures easily on the forums, just use the Without the spaces and that will show it nicely in the post. Can't wait till you get down here man, hopefully the WX picks up by then. My laptop is KIA due to some liquid intervention so I'm without until probably early or mid June

I have a NUVI 255W that is in the vehicle as primary and reacquired my 350 from the wife. I have correct cable on order from Argent but probably wont get anytime soon so not sure if I want to drop $$ on cable I linked to b4. Wish I could find right cable before my vacation end of next week so I will be fully functional b4 chasing in the plains from lonely MN here

You can always get the cable, get in the air using NMEA / waypoint strings and save up for an AvMap (the bomb) and when you get it sell off the nuvi / cable on e-Bay.

AvMap would be a nice off season / Christmas gift type project. First time that unit decodes an APRS packet and displays the stations location and info on a GPS screen or allows you to interrogate an APRS WX station in a tornado warned area "on the fly" you will be re-setting your clock!
Not using a display GPS and taking advantage of the full feature set is like eating half of a filet mignon and walking away hungry.
True success is built on a checklist approach and dogged determination. Hurrying to complete a task invites quick fixes and shoddy craftsmanship. Even at my advanced debilitated old age I am learning the Grandma was right. Don't blow your money on the quickie shiny, put a little back and get the best old workhorse you can find. You'll never be unhappy with good quality and real quality lasts a long time.

For those who have been inquiring about mobile mesonet the Kenwood TM-D710 and Peet Brothers WX station is an out of the box solution to gather, store and share in-situ weather observations.
