I reckon I could answer that one quickly of sorts....
Hard work, persistence, patience and a dream.
I know that Reed many years ago when I first knew about him was taking footage of tornadoes etc and wanted to get as close as possible for maximum impact for the viewer. By showing his footage to networks and inherently selling the footage and creating a forum inevitably got the ball rolling. It all starts with exposure. 'You're nobody until you're talked about!'
Once you get exposure it gives you leverage and credibility to expand into other areas and because he has the expertise to back it up it makes it all come together. Once established TVN was able to do what it does best - tornado and severe weather footage and sell their work. Sales means funds to build their business to what it is today.
But it all started with dedication, commitment and passion and the need to succeed whilst enjoying it. That's the secret - if you love doing something and you can help others, educate others and create a company then it's living the dream. This forum is just a reflection of what is capable!
