I'll just toss this one pic into the mix. This is the shot taken after getting through the jam under the overpass. Roughly 1/2 mile directly to the south of the jam. This is the wall cloud the DOW was scanning at the next exit. Unfortunately, the shot just before this (of a large funnel nearly in contact w/the ground) didn't turn out - I'm not proficient at shooting pix from moving vehicles while freaking out.

1 karma to you, Jo, for capturing this mean wall cloud. It almost has a 3d-ish quality to it

@CRst0rmchasers,

It was a wacky day that day. Thanks for the videos! It is heartening to know I haven't lost my mind from that day, as I was listening to the various Skywarn spotters and chasers and emergency personnel on the scanner that night. I remember hearing about "a big one" that had been on the ground since Bricelyn, had meandered towards Keister, and then into Freeborn County. It was a day, a storm, and a week that we will never forget. I remember going outside to grab the flashlight out of the pop up camper, and seeing the sky an ominous wildfire tinged orange, with lightning bolts that flashed cloud to cloud with no thunder; the random electric current sound without the lightning; the mammatus inflating and deflating in sync; the bluish greenish greyish color of the clouds. Hair stood on end, and like Jo, I flipped out because at THAT time they were claiming 1/2 mi wide in Alden..which was 10 min to our west. We heard that it was coming for a direct hit, and I mean EVERYBODY took cover...then it headed North. It was devestating to be sure.

Thanks to those who were out there from here that chased...whether intentionally or unintentionally.
