What a crazy day! All the storms fired and got really intense then fizzled. We intercepted one nice cell in the same exact spot as the Aurora, NE tornado on June 17th 2009. We are pretty much up in the air as to what we experienced. It was definitely either a weak tornado or a very strong gustnado that crossed the road right on top of us and proceeded to the same field as the infamous Aurora, NE twister. As you can see from the video in the first clip, we were positioned right in the updraft area of the storm, and the gust front had already passed, which leads me to believe weak tornado, but as you can see in the second video we couldn't identify any funnels due to precip/light conditions, which makes me lean towards gustnado. In either case, it was intense and the video when it smacked our car is absolutely hilarious. Jim unfortunately kept the camera on the GRLevel3 so you can't see all the debris this had with it.
