Be sure to check out Storm Chasers tonight at 10:00 eastern on Discovery! Among other things, this episode features high risk days in Arkansas, one of which was a bit of a surprise, late-developing outbreak ( April 30) while the other ( May 1) was almost a total bust. April 30 saw several strong, damaging tornadoes in the Ozark Mountains of southern Missouri into Arkansas. Reed and crew intercepted at least two tornadoes near Clinton, AR under less than ideal conditions! The next day was also a high risk, and is what I like to refer to as one of the biggest outbreaks of non-tornadic supercell of all time! Supercells literally covered the southern and central part of Arkansas at one point during the late afternoon, but tornadoes were very limited due in part to less than favorable low-level wind shear -- obviously a very fortunate turn of events for residents, given the otherwise dangerously volatile environment. To be sure, there were several strong tornadoes that day, but not in the area where forecast models had suggested would have the most potential. Parts of northern Mississippi, west Tennessee and western Kentucky were especially hard hit that evening. Feel free to post your thoughts on tonight's episode in the comments section, and check out the video from April 30, above!

(I live in Clinton)
Keep up the good work!
Oh and hilarious to see Sean shooting himself in the foot again, missing tornadoes again. He should just let Reed drive the TIV.
I'm just surprised if Ginger is Reed's gf, why wouldn't he just kiss her instead of hug her after the successful chase...Reed, man up! Lol.
Big fan of the show...didn't like Reed and Chris breaking the TVN effort...booting Chris out was not cool...sorry...really disappointed in this episode
911 operator: Is this for carry out or delivery?
@KCNavyPilot...your comment to jviehe made me laugh as you virtually said the same thing....hands down...Reed is the best tornado forecaster there is in storm chasers.
I'd like to see a Ladies only team of storm chasers maybe in a Pinkinator vehicle as the male egos are a bit annoying at times. Seans is the worst!
If you know the content of your post is going to get it deleted, why do you bother posting it?
I was chasing that day in Arkansas and we didnt see any tornadoes either, and we were on the same cell near Stuttgart, just not that close as Reed and his chick.

I suppose most of the tornadoes came later in the night, we were in a hotel just on the west side of Memphis, and we heard of many cells which were highly active long after midnight. Those must have been the ones causing fatalities...
