On tonight's episode of Storm Chasers, you'll be introduced to the TVN Superhauler! This remote-controlled airplane has a 12-foot wingspan and is capable of transporting 8-10 parachute probes. The idea is for the plane to fly into the inflow region of the supercell, then release the probes at altitude so they're pulled into the circulation. The probes will then record data from INSIDE the tornado! You definitely do not want to miss episode 6, tonight at 10:00 PM Eastern on Discovery!

Nov 23 2009 20:42:36 Good show. People seemed to have thier 'act' together more this episode. Definately BETTER video footage.
- Dsc Chnl called it the 'science plane'. Tvn calls it the 'superhauler'. I call it the 'RCIV'.. remote controlled intercept vehicle. And if it's a rocket 'RPIV'... rocket propelled intercept vehicle |
