Tonight's episode of Storm Chasers features the May 13 chase day, which was the day of the devastating Kirksville, MO tornado. A number of chasers had dangerously close calls with this very strong, rain-wrapped tornado. TVN was able to collect unprecedented data to go along with some incredible video, and Tim Samaras and Twistex had an amazing chase as well. Tune in to Discovery at 10:00 PM Eastern to see what unfolded; feel free to comment!

Um...Not to rain on your hate parade, but, isn't this thread about tonight's upcoming episode?
I watched the clip Heidi put up for us - didn't see Wurman anywhere on it.

But...I did see/hear Chris Chittik scream at Reed to "Baaack Uuup!!!"

Looks like a great episode, may even be worthy of becoming a SC Classic? Time will tell, and I'm anxiously waiting.

Thanks Jo for bringing us back on topic.

I have a good feeling about this one. Any episode with "Back Uup!!" has to be a classic.

My Dominating senses are tingling!

This tornado started about 1/8 of a mile from my house in Milan (which is @ 32 miles west of Kirksville). All of a sudden we had really heavy rain and the sirens went off after the rain had stopped-no warning. It really picked up speed and strength, taking a life in the process, before it even hit Kirksville.

We have had many close calls before, but this day will truly be remembered forever.

Ive been watchin these clips on the website for a long time,, I've been ready to watch this episode for months,, but yes I think Josh Worman is a ***** I mean who the hell does he think he is,, I mean just because he's govt. doesn't mean nothin but he's getting our tax money.. along with Reed's tax money so that should mean Reed has more pull than Josh... and wtf is up with Joel,, if he doenst want to chase,, hit me up,, I love to study tornadoes!!!

I think if I got that close while chasing one like that I would soil myself...UNLESS i was in a TIV or something like the Dominator :-). Maybe down the road right? Wait till you start seeing my vehicle this next spring (building a full vehicle hail guard)! It'll make a lot of chasers jealous

This almost reminds me of the season finale episode tornado showdown from last season. there's the same famous line..."BACK UP" i freakin love it. you guys just rock out loud :P

Congrats on your first discovery channel aired intercept Reed, awesome episode, I am enjoying this season so far. All the info you guys collected especially on the 13th that aired tonight freakin awesome. Hopefully this whole situation with Joel is now behind you all and will look forward to chases next year as well as the rest of the year.

WOW...just watched the Kirksville episode..you guys got some amazing footage, and from what I could recognize about the scenery, you got hit while the tornado was at it's most fierce!!..it sucks that you were all in town, and I was 2 hours away, fishing....lol

you guys did great it was awesome,tim samarras did real good also.wurman is still a tool and so is casey,and joel seems like he us a complete asss now,covers up the tvn logo and bashes you,i hope the marriage is over.that dude hank seems cool.

Wow! What an episode! That tech rep from the Radar company got to do a test of Reed's new equipment inside a genuine live tornado!! 8) No test run with a twister half a mile or so away. No! He got to do his first tornado data test from inside the beast!! Now the company can honestly say this model of their radar has been Tornado Tested!!
And this time, the Storm Chasers Season with so much tornadic action is only half over!! :lol:

That was just Amazing! Jeeze.. CRAZY !!

The data collection from that one has to be incredible. Did your team get any electrical property measurement?

The addition of team Twistex "Tim Samaras" is a definite plus as well.

Enough already on the "Joel" issue... movin on... The drama adds to the flair of the whole picture.

Discovery should move this series to a more primetime spot. Its hard for some of us early riser people to stay up that late on Sunday. Looking forward to having the DVD's of these intercepts.

I cant wait for the Aurora tornado. That will be 2 seasons in a row with a tornado from my home state.
