Extreme Tornado Tours guide Olivier Staiger, AKA "Klipsi," traveled to Shanghai, China last week to prepare to document the total solar eclipse today (July 22). Klipsi says that a few days ago the forecast was very bad for Shanghai, so he decided to blast southwest, ending up in Hangzhou, which is a few hours drive from Shanghai. On the morning of eclipse day, the sky was overcast but it cleared for his location and he was able to get a good view except for smog and haze.
This was Klipsi's 25th solar eclipse, and his 12th TOTAL solar eclipse! Klipsi says, "To see a total solar eclipse in the USA we have to wait till 2017."
