As the massive East Coast trough has been gradually replaced by zonal flow, insanely quite weather has overspread the entire nation except for a few winter weather advisories in the Pacific Northwest interior. It looks like this pattern will continue for at least the rest of the week through the weekend, with weak West Coast riding continuing. A gradual warm-up is underway for the south-central U.S. today, with temperatures in 60s+ over much of the Southern Plains. While this is a much needed break for much of the Northeast U.S. who have been pounded by extreme winter weather...the blog may get a little boring if this new regime continues!
