With Typhoon Conson gathering strength over the South China Sea, extreme storm chaser James Reynolds made a last-minute decision to travel to Hainan Province, China, landing in the resort area of Sanya for what would have been a perfect intercept of the Category-1 equivalent storm. However, Conson did not totally cooperate, making landfall after dark and thus limiting James' ability to fully document the brunt of the storm (footage below!).
