At the very least, the northeast coastline is almost guaranteed to experience extremely rough surf, which can cause a lot of problems even without hurricane winds and huge amounts of rain. Also of note, the National Hurricane Center anticipates large swells from Bill to begin impacting the southern U.S. coast by this weekend, so vacationers will need to exercise caution. We'll continue to update as conditions change! Bill is expected to grow even stronger, so there may be a Category 5 in the Atlantic very soon!!

Re:Hurricane Bill now a Category 4!!!
Aug 19 2009 20:09:33 I checked it the first thing this morning and said HOLY COW, 135 mph winds! (As of 11am)...The track looks like it may direct-hit New England, however, I encourage the Mid-Atlantic to keep an eye on this dangerous storm. The Hampton Roads area and Outer Banks will get at least large waves, beach erosion, and possibly a few rain bands.
