07.03.09.day1otlk_1300Severe thunderstorms are possible today over parts of Kansas and Nebraska, including the same area that experienced the "tornadofest" on June 17th! Although a fairly strong cap will be in place, supercells are expected to develop late this afternoon over northern Kansas and southern Nebraska, given moderate instability and favorable shear profiles for that timeframe. ...
The evolution of an MCS is likely after dark, which would likely affect southern Iowa and Missouri. Be sure to check the Live Video tab to follow the action!
Also, with tomorrow being Independence Day in the United States, multiple chasers from our network will be streaming fireworks displays from cities including Lubbock, TX, St. Louis, MO and others! Have a happy holiday weekend and remember to be safe!

+2 #3 Caleb 2009-07-03 18:13 Tomarrow looks good but the tornado thret may be lower then today. That dos't mean it will be a down day though. Dew points will be in the 60s and 70s But this may be a liner event but keep watching lines can produce very quick tornadoes!
