As mentioned in the previous entry, Dick McGowan and Darin Brunin of TornadoLive chased with TVN on June 17. They captured some of the most dramatic footage of the day, including the moment when the tornado slammed into the TVN SRV, causing the driver's side window to explode! Check out their video below!

Severe weather watches are currently in effect from eastern Iowa and Wisconsin all the way to western Maryland as a complex storm system advances east. Tornadoes are most likely to occur in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio where there is a MODERATE RISK, but cannot be ruled out elsewhere in the highlighted risk area. The main threat should be from damaging winds as a massive squall line/potential derecho takes shape in Illinois, however, supercells have been firing iout in front and will pose a unique threat ahead of the line before that system arrives. There should be several chasers streaming this live so be sure to check the Live Video tab to follow their progress, and as always, persons in the risk areas are urged to monitor changing weather conditions, especially given that darkenss is approaching. Stay tuned for updates - TVN's footage from this week should be available soon!

Moderate Risk! Plus intense video from June 17th!

HOLY MOLY!! Y'all have some dang good eye sight. At the beginning when you were yelling "Tornado! Right There!" I'm looking hard & thinking to myself "I don't see no stinking tornado...Hmmm, is it invisible??" I saw little whisps of stuff that looked like wind blowing a little, not a tornado and then WAHM! BAM! Thank Ya, Ma'am, there it was! Once the dust & debris got mixed into it, it was easy to see. Was that a funnel cloud (the white hangy-down thingy) trying to form a second tornado just outside the brown monster or was that part of the same one? There I go again with those "technical" terms!

Another great & exciting video..with great sound effects! Y'all are the best. Thanks for what you do and the lives you save while putting yours at risk.

Texarkana,

I think what you were seeing was the inflow to the tornado. I'm no expert, but that was my observation I suppose.

Note to self:

Self, check video again for possible satelite or, 'white-hangy-down-thingy'.
