06.15.09.day1otlk_1300Tornadoes and extremely large hail are possible again today, with the focus shifting slightly east to include most of the central and southern Plains. Instability will be much greater than yesterday, withsupercell thunderstorms expected to develop this afternoon ahead of a dryline extending from western South Dakota south into the Texas Panhandle. Tornadoes appear most likely across the majority of Kansas, where the best shear and instability should come together. 06.15.09.day1probotlk_1300_hail 06.15.09.cape00znam 06.15.09.nam_221_2009061512_f12_wspd_850_mb_500_mb
Also, check out stream Thunder's video, as well as TwisterData's, from yesterday afternoon in southwest Kansas!

I plan on leaving work around 4:30 and chasing in the Kingman area. I live in Hutchinson so I won't have far to go. I just hope everything comes together during the daylight hours today.

Man! Last Night Was Fun, it's kinda weird I didn't expect a cell at 3am EDT being able to produce a tornado! Very High Knots on The Meso, checking if there was a report it was South Of Salina, KS. Anyone wants to see the Radar Pics I got sorry it's NWS, but it was amazing! -Brandon

sweet video, i gotta wait till thursday and friday before im able to have a chance at chasing, and i wont have to go far should things not change to much in the next 4 days as the day 4 outlook is centered over my area, and day 5 is just to the east. 4 days is a long time, but cross fingers that things come together for some weather.

It's a hockey term used when one player scores three goals in one game!

The windmills in Reed's video stream aren't turning...

It ticks me off--storms and tornadoes are finally in my back yard and I had to work today. A friend of mine lives in Macksville, he told me his stepmom lost 3 buildings but the house never got any damage and no Injuries. Another guy from work lives in Pawnee Rock and his house is half underwater.I work in Great Bend and we got blasted by some very very strong winds and a crapload of rain. I'm home now, and I don't think the storms are even close to being over, looks like another cell building off to the west.

I had the same thing. Well, at least I now know it's wasn't just me.

I just missed Verne's tornadoes on the live stream! That's some awesome video! I, too, really appreciate the play-by-play. :-)
