06.14.09.goshenco.reflectivityAs an upper-level short-wave trough advances over the Rockies, shear and instability will be adequate for supercell development in the high Plains this afternoon and evening. A tornado has already been reported in the recent hot-spot of Goshen County, Wyoming, along with softball-sized hail!

A tornado watch is currently in effect for northeast Colorado, western Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, along with a scattering of severe thunderstorm watches from the Texas Panhandle to the middle Ohio River Valley to the Florida Panhandle. Extremely large hail and tornadoes are most likely in the high Plains, with damaging wind and severe hail being the main threat farther south and east. Storm chasers are already in the field tracking storms, so be sure to follow their progress on the Live Video tab! 06.14.09.validww 06.14.09day1probotlk_2000_hail

The DCVR and the jet stream comming from the SE may help the supercells develope near Denver. These storms may produce tornadoes VERY quickly.

Storm with very strong rotation in KS!! It's amazing it's becoming rain-wrapped if there is a tornado, with the knots it could be in the EF-3 to EF-5 Range!

I will have to look it up, but i don't know if anyone else was asleep, but there was a fairly large hook last night around 2am CDT. If anyone wants the Radar Pic's I grabbed let me know, sry just the stupid NWS images.
