Brett Roberts captured these amazing pictures from the tornado that touched down in Eastern Norman last night. Reports were that the tornado touched down at 48th Ave E and Lindsey Ave, which is about 3 miles from the National Weather Center and about 2 miles from my own house!

This is why I want to live in Oklahoma City.

You are the tornado capitol of the world.

2 this year. Going for 3? Tell me when you're going for it.

your count is a bit off, I've personally chased three separate storms through the greater okc metro...all of them putting down at least 1 tornado

2 miles? Thats a little too close for comfort, at least for me! Thats actually the closest a tornado came to my house too. August 4th last year, in bolingbrook, the tornado touched down 2.5 miles south of my house. Pretty close!!

Anyhow, interesting how the storm just blew up.... fun!

OMG I watched this thing just literally explode along the outflow boundary. It was amazing structure too even though it was dark.

Was that the actual lighting in the photos or was it brightened so we could see the tornado better? I have friends that live in both Norman and Lindsay so that was scary. Those photos look very Erie but beautiful at the same time. 8)

Yea missed me and my kids by about a mile. Thankfully it was just off to our ENE. We saw it, probably right before it touched down.

Anyone else in Norman notice how late the tornado sirens were? 3 times now in the last few years they have been late like that. They went of 15 mins after the offical warning was out.

From the SPC: METEOROLOGISTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORMAN CONDUCTED A DAMAGE SURVEY INDICATING THAT A LOW-END EF1 TORNADO OCCURRED WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF NORMAN FRI.
That is mother natures way of bearding the lion in his den.
