denver_tornado_carlsonUPDATE! Click for video from Denver tornado!

Verne Carlson's son and daughter are currently tracking an estimated quarter-mile wide tornado that has traveled through populated areas south and east of Denver! At left is a photo taken by Verne's daughter Kathleen -- thiswas as it was first touching down, well before it widened out!

denver_supercell.300pmWe'll keep you posted on updates. Chasers in eastern Kansas and Nebraska are still awaiting initiation but this could be a very eventful evening across the moderate risk area!!

This was the home of a co-worker. I'm 3 mi. from here and we received hail damage to some vehicles. He was not home at the time and there were no injuries.

WOW! Thats lucky for you guys. Nice pictures!

I just can't believe there was an insurance person there so quick! His house must have been hit...

Here in my part of Texas, it takes insurance people WEEKS to inspect damage! Maybe its because we are in a rural area...??? hmmm...

Does anyone know if anyone was hurt?

I will have to do more research on this....

**UPDATE**

I did some research and found that,
"No serious injuries were reported on the shopping-center grounds, but a man in a nearby neighborhood who was trying to take pictures reportedly was hospitalized with unspecified serious injuries, according to news reports."

Denver Business Journal

Hope he'll be alright. Yikes.

For those chasers relying on their cell phones for information in N.E Kansas, find another means of communications. I was raised in Holton and was back 2 weeks ago and coverage is extremely spotty from Holton EAST to the state line and again poor from just SOUTH of Holton to NORTH heading up Hwy 75. If you have out of state tags, better SLOW DOWN. They don't take to kindly to out-of-town speeders. And deer on the roads are as common as flies on a hog farm. With the fuller moon out tonight, the wildlife out and about will be heavy.

I knew there was going to be a tornado there. I was tracking the tornado warned storm when I saw the VERY distinct hook echo form.

Hi TVN sorry to be irrelevant but there is an ad on your website that slows my PC down tremendously. It does it to 4 other PC's I've tried accessing your site on, to the point of taking up 100% CPU. It is a bright red ad saying "Get your free score FREE" with a golden "view yours now!" button. It's a flash based ad.

Just thought I'd let you know that a certian ad is making the website inaccessable for some people (canadians mostly). Right now I can't even visit your live stream because it appears every time and I have to restart my whole PC.

edit: blocked the ad manually. chasethestorms.com's storm looks the best on radar, currently.

I have a friend who is just south of there. She said she had seen 3 tornados within 3 miles of her. I can tell the pic is a funnel but i cant see the ground that must be the storm.
