Explosive thunderstorm development is possible later this afternoon as the right entrance region of the jet stream will provide the upper level ascent needed for convective initiation over northwest Texas. An intensifying low-level jet just after 00z should cause the tornado threat to skyrocket with any discrete storms that form, and strong tornadoes in addition to extremely large hail will be possible. Later, a large MCS is likely to develop and affect the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area and points east, bringing the threat for widespread damaging winds and flooding.
