TVN got EXTREMELY close to one of last night's photogenic tornadoes northeast of Lubbock -- the tornado knocked down power poles directly in front of the SRV! Several teams of chasers were in the same area last evening, and many of them fell victim to the treacherous, extremely muddy roads, so TVN was fortunate to have been among those who kept out of the ditch!

Severe weather is possible again today, from the Great Lakes to the southern Plains. Large hail and damaging winds will pose the greatest threat, although a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Very heavy rains are also expected across these areas, raising the potential for extensive flooding. Check back for updates!

Reed once again....your the man on the SPOT on the day...getting the SHOT....Excellent work dude, that was looking like a really nice Tornado, certainly looked quite big.
I was intrested to see how the Tornado was acting nearer the ground and how it kept disconecting from the ground then, comming right down again?....The Strength of the winds looked impressive, and to see 2 on the ground at the same time is just Awsome! Always a frantic chase but ya gotta love it!
Once again to the TEAM at TVN,Reed and Joel especially....REALLY GOOD WORK GUYS....excellent...and thanks.
Safe Chasing guys.stay safe!

Great work out there TVN team.. Really want to see the Drummond/Holcolm stuff.. It was apparent by the live stream.. Those guys were a bit closer... Reed... You are awesome... Really appreciate how cool calm and collective Joel seems to maintain...

I am already feeling the meso withdrawls.. JC can't get back out there till after May 12th.. Really hope there is not a dry spell when I come back out..

Saying it again... You guys DOMINATE !!! Cheers

Wow. I read the TIV got stuck on this chase. Why are they still using the mkI - is this just while TIV2 is finished off (again!)

We ain't in Kansas any more, Toto!
That shot with both tornados was friggin' awesome! 8) Hollyweird ain't got nothing on the REAL thing like Reed, Joel, and crew. Spectacular camera work!

But the real questions are.... did ya go back and get your hat?? :-? .... and do you carry extra wipers with ya??? ;-)

Bad thing is the video just gets going good and then BAM, it's over! Sure wish the vids were longer.....hint hint!

Amazing video. Can't wait for the fall season on Discovery Channel HD. Maybe you guys can get a wiperblade company to sponser some less sqeeky blades for the SRV. Keep punching the core!

Yeah guys. You're the best in the bussiness.I have to say the best and devoted chasers on the field, beside David Drummond and Brian Emfinger.Awesome video.I was so angry that i didn't watch the stream yesterday because i thought i will not be such good event (especally when you see the high risk and doesn't go as planned)and then such good footage.Good luck and be safe in next event

i liked how you screamed at everyone to roll their windows up and then you realized that the storm was moving away from your window so you rolled yours back down! Are all your windows bullet proof or just the windshield? (srv)

Watching the live feeds is a great way to keep informed also. Thanks again, everyone, for a great job and be careful. Nature is beautiful but can be dangerous.

Hey its Alberto here.I think those were some of the best tornado videos i ever saw live.Tornados just kept popping with that storm, with 2 at a time on the ground.Today i think hail to 4.5inches and tornados are possible by late afternoon in south central oklahoma dryline,as heaating along outflow fires storms.I currently have a 10% tornado risk anbd 45% hail in my forcast,if storms fire is if cap can erode,or convective temps breached.

I am so used to you guys getting such great footage that I sometimes find myself taking it for granted lately since it is just great shot after great shot. You just make it look easy and I know it is far from that in reality. Thanks again for taking the risk each day getting out there. And all of this isn't just for the TVN crew, but same for Drummond, Holcomb, to name a few if the guys (and gals) busting it for our viewing pleasure.
