A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for most of eastern New Mexico, extending into southwest Texas.  Although it appeared as though subsidence would suppress convection for most of this afternoon, storms are firing in eastern New Mexico at this time, a few of which have been tornado-warned, although the primary threat should be very large hail. Several teams of chasers are in the field and streaming, so be sure to check out the Live Tracker to follow along!

I think parts of southwest texas into nm could have a significant but small tornado event today.the airmass is moderatly unstable but with strongly veering shear aloft for supercells.South east at low levels veering to 45kt mid level south west.increasing moisture this evening will focus greater tornado risk in far southwest texas.
