A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for most of eastern New Mexico, extending into southwest Texas.  Although it appeared as though subsidence would suppress convection for most of this afternoon, storms are firing in eastern New Mexico at this time, a few of which have been tornado-warned, although the primary threat should be very large hail.
