Brian Emfinger just emailed this photo of the large tornado that was occurring in Ellis County, OK a while ago. Verne Carlson, Dick McGowan and Darin Brunin were 100 yards away from this tornado when it had just formed and was a narrow elephant trunk. Reed reports that TVN was VERY close to two large, strong tornadoes - video to come later!

Tornado watches currently extend from the upper Mississippi River Valley to the Rio Grande in Texas! This is a serious weather situation and those in the watch areas should monitor the conditions as the evening progresses.

No I didnt see it in full, and I could only veiw still shots so maybe your right. I guess it was just the way it looked in that particular situation that I wondered. Well now dont I look silly...

I thought Reeds video has just taken tornado video to a new level.... That was jaw dropping. I guess an ahhhhhhh would be the right response.

Were You on US 283 north or south of the Canadian River when this was shot? Know the are well.

I chased "Tail end Charlie" yesterday from South of Snyder up to Carnegie. Got some cool tape of the funnel south of Snyder and I think your guys were behind me shooting it as well.Will post it as soon as I figure out how!
